Does anyone finds any difference between call quality for Simba VOLTE and ST/M1/SH normal 4G calls?

there is no such thing as normal 4G calls. when using 4G to make voice call, you are actually using 3G voice call.
this is also the reason why samba can only work using VoLTE as samba has no 3G network.

it is hard to compare unless you purposely arrange for test. you know that you are using volte, but you also need to know the other end is using 3G or Volte.

so techincally SIMBA voice call quality should be more superior then SH/M1/ST for those on 4G service?

Just received this message from simba :

Dear subscriber, wishing you all a very Merry Christmas, and thank you for celebrating another year with us. This festive season, we're happy to announce that we will continue absorbing GST across all plans. So, fret not, we've got you covered!

I am also a subscriber with an OG telco who has never greeted me for the holidays other than to soft sell more products, and was the first to Jjww about how gst increase will be reflected in my 2023 bill. Simba doesn't have the best coverage, but it has won moi heart :(

Those on the SIMBA 100GB (50GB+50GB) plan or prepaid plan should also get an additional 2nd SMS below:

Dear subscriber, we're extending our bonus 50GB promo! Until 31-Jul-23 all SIMBA customers on the SIM-Only-Plan 100GB & Prepaid plans will continue to enjoy an additional 50GB on top of their usual data allowance. We look forward to serving you in 2023!

If my tpg Sim card into an old Samsung phone then install the tpg voice app. The phone will be use in Thailand indoor wifi. So any incoming voice call to tpg Singapore number, would it be a problem receiving it?? Is there charges involved??

Assuming that your basic tpg plan includes some free roaming data, you should be able to receive incoming voice call to tpg Singapore number using their voice app.

Once you have exceeded your entitlement of the free roaming data, I believe charges may be incurred under the following circumstances :

(a) You are on mobile data internet connectivity only.

(b) You are on indoor wifi internet connectivity but with data routed via one or more cellular routers/gateways/towers.

In Singapore most of us take it for granted that our home and office routers/gateways are conncected via fibre cable only to the ISPs infrastructure.

This may not be the case overseas especially in remote areas.

Just realized u can enable ‘no caller id’ on the SIMBA voice app so when u call the other party cannot see your number. Other telco will need to charge for this.
There is, but after using it a few days, I switched it off.

Most people don't answer calls from private numbers. :s13: It's worse now with the scams and spoof numbers and all. Also, a client shared that it reduces trust in your organisation if one keeps calling from private numbers.

If mobile devices are not on tpg's list of supported devices, both voice caller & receiver on wifi internet connectivity probably will have no issue.

However if on mobile data connectivity, the mileage may vary (eg difficulty in receiving incoming calls).

Always have backup plan if involving very senior parents.
