Port in from Myrepublic to Simba. Today collected the SIM card.
But I do not know how to activate the SIM card.
Is it like other telco will provide you a temporary number? or need to wait till port in, then activate the sim card?

Thanks

No temp number. Will activate after port in successful.

please ensure that you submit the correct operator. MyRepublic option is StarHub, if yours is MR-M1, you have to select M1.

if not port out may fail.

again, before anyone blames SIMBA/TPG for porting fails, this is MyRepublic’s fault.
Keep switching MNO like some people switching their lovers….

if not port out will fail.

normally the port over occur during midnight, hang on to your myrepublic until no connection then it means probably it has port over to Simba

then you can change SIM card n set your APN ;)

Your current APN settings is?

- sunsurf: M1
- MyRepublic / shwap: StarHub

If you’re on iOS, can also see the carrier in Settings -> General -> About

you can see if it is M1 Singapore or StarHub

Probably need to drop an email to SIMBA asking them to submit as M1 if the porting isn’t successful within next 3 working days, not sure if they will ask you to submit a new Full Mobile Number Portability form though.

I goto Simba website checked the port in from which telco again, there is no choice like Myrepublic M1, how can user know...

And actually when I collect the sim card from the store, the store staff need to check my current Myrepublic bill.
I think I can not choose M1 at the begining as I do not have the M1 bill.

So troublesome..

Perhaps you can have a quick search through the respective threads to understand what's what before porting.
There's clarifications there that are very clear and easy to understand.

This is MyRepublic issue that I don’t think SIMBA can do anything about.

MyRepublic is making everything even more confusing now with their 4G M1 and 5G StarHub plans.

Previously there's even 4G StarHub plans, which is why the MyRepublic option is latched to StarHub automatically.

Though yes, it would be easier if SIMBA remove the MyRepublic option outright, and request customer to go to the shop directly to apply for new line for MyRepublic customers specifically.

tell customer to show e bill, remove SIM card to see if it is M1 (IMSI: 52503, ICCID: 896503) or StarHub (IMSI: 52505, ICCID: 896505).
