Crap, the Simba outlet didn’t do a proper job to port over SingTel prepaid to Simba postpaid.

does anyone know if Simba can convert the prepaid to postpaid?
No.

Anyway what do you mean didn't do a proper job?

I think cross port from ST Prepaid to SIMBA Postpaid will happen on the SIMBA Prepaid SIM.

As long as you can access your SIMBA account through My SIMBA app, it's upgraded to postpaid liao.

I logged in just to say that this is the worst telco I've ever been on. They throttle the data so much my videos take so long to load at a higher resolution. Signal reception may be 4 bars but the connection is intermittent and very poor. There is no point in giving so much data when you can't even use it due to the poor connection!

Ya. I'm local in sg and I can't receive my OTPs from UOB in time for my online purchases. Can't even do regular calls even with 4 bar connectivity at my house!!

Yes Simba is not for everyone. Sounds like your home and work area is just located in a location with poor Simba connectivity.

But I’m surprised you see 4 bars but get so bad performance. Btw what phone are you using?

Lol these days more and more are signing up for SIMBA, last time pass by the booth bolang one, now it’s like 6-8 people each time…
Cost of living going up. Even some telcos raising prices like crazy. Some of the cost increases are hidden, like they no longer bundle Caller ID, so customers have to pay $5+GST more.

Or like Singtel SIM only, whack both: raise price + charge for CallerID. :s13: Enough to sign up for 3 SIMBA senior plans.

Define higher resolution. 4K? 8K?

Yeah but my office - Eunos area has really bad reception with SIMBA, so no choice I’ve ported out to GOMO haha… :D

On the topic of wifi, it seems like there is a chance they're going launch their own ISP/WiFi services. Tuas/SIMBA has two subsidiaries Netco East and Netco West, which suggests that they may enter the ISP market soon. Just speculation. Might be able to find out more in their upcoming Tuas financial result on 23 March.

More competition is always good for consumers!

Using Sony Xperia XZ3.

YouTube 720p. Even at 480p it has issues loading as I ride on the bus. Give up on simba liao, went back to my trusty old telco (no names mentioned).

My advise to anyone going for those cheap telcos that do not ride on the main players (singtel, starhub and m1) networks, please consider if you really need so much data and whether the telco's network is able to support this. I learnt my lesson the hard way after frequent disconnections during video calls, unable to make phone calls at home and at work (only some areas in sg work), unable to receive sms OTPs and cannot stream my videos reliably.

Correction. Simba is using their own infrastructure. So far it is good enough for me. Your mileage may vary depends on your location.

lol, which MVNO do not ride on these big 3? All of them lease from ST, SH, M1 one way or another.
You know what you talking about not.

And such issues, depends on your locations/load/time/device and user.
Not everything is telco fault, moreover in IT, i.e 80% - 90% of issues are user issues.

Agree with this. Most of the time it’s users’ fault. Telco didn’t spent millions just to fail on some of these issues, but of course no telco is perfect and issues arise from time to time.

Problem right now is that some telcos don’t address some of the more common issues accurately and effectively, leading to confusion on the consumers’ side.
