Actually it is true.

I just started using Simba today. A bit slow compared to circle's life but ok la considering the costs.

But network coverage seems spotty. I was at SAF yacht club and there was no network there. But hope the rest of Singapore has coverage.

for bar depends on ur phone chipset. my snapdragon 855 phone can have 5 bars while lower end snapdragon 732g or mediatek helio g25 can only see 3 bars.

speed depends on location. can go above 90mbps

also at night noticably slower

Anyway,

Super flawless and fast porting process from Giga to SIMBA! Downtime was less than 10 minutes,

1230 hrs: Picked up and activated the new SIMBA SIM card with Porting option.
2355 hrs: My Giga cell signal was ceased.
0001 hrs: My SIMBA cell signal appeared and Port-In number took effect.

Oh yes. My friend told me to download Simba VOICE app. With this app, you can make phone calls using data and you can make normal phone calls.

What this means is unlike whatsapp calls where you can only call another person with WhatsApp, with this Simba VOICE app, you can even call your office or home, as long as you have data. I have tried it. It works. Reception not perfect but i managed to call and i still had my free 300 minutes of call

What this also means is that if i were overseas, i can call home to my home number for free if let's say i have access to WiFi or i still have data from my 1gb a month allowance. No need what idd rates

not only that, you can take out your sim card and put in another phone with volte. now you can make calls from 2 different phones but receive call on the volte if sim is active. If you are overseas, you can receive and make local incoming calls on the app as long as you have wifi or data

porting to another telco is automatic. just subscribe to the new telco, no need to inform the old telco. just make sure of the old telco's t&c that does not prevent u from porting out.

One small issue but turned out to be potential one.

For SIMBA, you need to take a picture of NRIC. Can't remember for circle's life.

The problem is i had a typo in my name when i subscribed to circles life. The customer service agent for circle's life said no issue.

The thing is when you want to port over, your particulars for SIMBA and the Telco you are porting must match. So the customer service agent for SIMBA said might be an issue.

Turned out no issue.

Cheap plus free roaming. Only thing is the connection speed and coverage but at such rates, can't complain.

Chrome, Google Map and YouTube all said the "slow" speed is still "Awesome" to them!

So, stop complaining about slow speed of SIMBA!

I’d say it’s been attractive all this while, just that not many here are sharing their subscriptions and porting.

Myself ported two spare lines over to save 50% cost and threw SIM cards into my iPads. A sibling got a line for the parent and the three other SIM cards went to her kids. The four-slot limit per Senior plan is good enough to cover the cost for one line at the main telcos, what’s more with free roaming.

Just because of its low cost many put their SIM cards into spare phones that are either old or low tier. Try using at least a higher mid-level phone for a better experience. I look around me and see more user problem than anything.

One thing I noticed, if you’re outside say in an MRT train and suddenly find the data connection bad, check your WiFi. More often than not, mine got hooked to the Sing whatever free WiFi that’s weak. Just have to turn off WiFi and continue surfing.

The guy is not open to other ideas and as long as you are not in the same frequency, he will block you off.

Can post speedtest results? Stop being a leacher and contribute speedtest results..

Walk to this place do speedtest? Cross the road do speedtest? Can put in telco A SIM do speedtest also? Then go this corner of the building do speedtest? Try Teclo B SIM speedtest? If you have Telco C SIM, please share speedtest as well?

Now, I don't need such huge roam data as well as in the near future too. ! So, if the free 1GB is not enough, I can just Pay-Per-Use!

The data roaming Pay-per-use is payable only via wallet?

What if the monthly bill is recurring card payment? Still have to go through the wallet method?
