That was about 8 months ago. If switching to 100 GB plan is allowed now, I will switch my father's line to it when the senior plan is no longer valid.
Yeah. Perhaps time to update your info. ;) The situation has changed, so advising people of old news isn't quite accurate. ;)

If in doubt, can check their FAQ to be clear.

For me, I'm waiting for them to allow transfer to another user.

For those able to connect to SIMBA/TPG 5G (NSA) , what are your
Phone Brand and Model:
OS Version:
APN:
SIM Card: Since Trail (With TPG logo) / New (With SIMBA logo)
Location: (if you are ok with sharing)

I have been trying to connect to 5G with a S23 and a iPhone 14 but am getting no luck on both.

EDIT: I have gone to multiple outdoor locations, including locations listed as having 5G NSA enabled on SIMBAs website.
Phone Brand and Model: Huawei Mate 40 Pro
OS Version: EMUI 12
APN: TPG
SIM Card: Since Trail (With TPG logo) / New (With SIMBA logo) TPG logo (but now using eSIM)

That's a good point. I was wondering why I got never hooked up to 5G while I was with Simba. Now I realize that the device must support specific band after reading FAQ.

  • a compatible 5G device (supports NR n40 band) that is configured to SIMBA’s 5G network (for mmWave connectivity, the device must support NR n257 and/or n258) and set to 5G mode for the appropriate SIM Slot (for dual SIM devices).

And I think that the SIM card had to be in one of the supported phone for specified phone for certain amount of time before SIMBA triggers and provisioned 5G for that number.

I've tried putting my daughter's SIM card into my phone for 3 days and it didn't get triggered.

Need some advice here.
I ported over from MR esim on Friday afternoon. It's Sunday I'm still unable to connect to simba network. How long does the activation take?

I've followed the instruction and added to my device using the QR code. Tried restarting and manually selecting network.

Any help is appreciated.

IMHO.
In the S23U, there is an ON/OFF setting for 5G NSA. Also no use.
The A14-5G by default cannot get 5G - need to coax it. 🤣
Even if the signal is there, there is no function to choose it by default.
There are those band selection apps - not sure if they work or will cock up the OS. 🤔

Using the same ideology for TPG 4G - There are 2 bands available.
Download/Upload, one band is almost symmetrical and the other asymmetrical.
The choice of bands should be auto i.e. the best available.
So far, apparently, doesn't seem to be the case.
If one is connected to the more popular band, effectively down/up will be poor ( in my case ).
In the OS, there is no choice function available.
Same thing, there are those band selection apps - not sure if they work or will cock up the OS.
