I went to the Tampinese SIMBA booth at 6.00pm and was told to wait for my Giga line to be disconnected then pop in the new SIMBA. At around 12mid night of the same night, my Giga lost its connection. Then I put in the SIMBA new sim, no signal initially, but too tired to wait so went to bed. Next day morning SIMBA is live in my phone. YMMV.
Thanks for the information, so can do the porting and pay $10 on the spot?

yes all on the spot. the sales guy uses his tablet to do his stuff. Show him your ic, a proof of your current sim’s bill with your name and address(hard or soft copy). and pay the $10 in cash.

SIMBA signup, be it over the counter or online. Super efficient! 😙

Thanks cpuer!

I went to serangoon at ard 7pm plus but didn't proceed as the guy says need 2 business days to port. Didn't want to risk as my giga cycle is on 15th.

Regardless of telco, you're very brave to give 1 day porting buffer. Some mvno's will even charge a couple of days before the billing cycle.

Haha.. Not I brave, I wanted to port to Heya but some stores charge extra just for sign up, some stores in peninsular plaza don't even do porting, wasted quite a few days really. Then I thinking maybe port to simba first if the porting is faster.

i also sign up at counter get sim immediately last time .. my friend go sign on line wait many days for sim :ROFLMAO:
The moral of the story when signing up online. Select self collect. Don't opt for delivery. Don't be lazy! Else, wait for many years! 😅

That's good to hear.

I'm a person who buy now and wanna get the goods and get it done immediately if there is option to do so.

I have no patient for such thingy .. 🤭

Im on the MY130 plan

Anyone know if i make calls (non-data) in Msia to Singapore numbers, will it incur overseas usage?

Also if i get calls from SG when im in Msia, does it have the overseas ring tone?

Thanks

So long you have volte on your mobile.

All IDD calls are chargeable unless you use simba app call

I also followed the official lead-time of 2 working days when I switch from Giga to SIMBA. But in actual its within the same night. But it's fine.

One extra note, the Tampines guy enter the first name last name blindly from left to right, it's bad for Chinese names. so instead of say Tan Ah Teck, now I am known to SIMBA as first name: Tan Ah, Last name: Teck. :spin: :spin:

When the guy is processing your application, do check on his work. Might be same like Tampinese
