sounds like it's a phone setting issue. Chose manual network selection, than automatic.
I've roamed in a few countries in Europe, no issues for me, I even attempted manual network selection as the network it got on was only 3G.
IMHO.
Did you happen to roam in Turkey and Bulgaria ? What phone you're using ?

I did try manual network selection and try every network one by one. No luck.
I have dual simcards, simba on the first slot and hicard on the second slot.
Simba got no network (shown as "SOS only"), while hicard got automatically and easily connected to a local network, e.g. "Turk Telecom|Singtel"

No, I didn't manage to roam using Simba. I had to use airport wifi and buy local simcard.
I am using Huawei P30 Pro. I know my phone doesn't support e-sim, that's why I had to use Simba. Otherwise, if my phone support e-sim, I would choose another roaming solutions like airalo.

Another SIMBA line ported-In successfully from StarHub just now. However, I was pleasantly surprised that the porting process takes place during Saturday/Sunday too... 😬

Saturday:
0110 hrs: Signed-up online with eSIM option.
0930 hrs: Received email stating my Port-In request had been submitted.
2300 hrs: StarHub lost connection.
Sunday:
0115 hrs: SIMBA line (eSIM - iPhone 14MP) came alive.

On the other and. SIMBA's overseas telco partner list has been updated with a timestamp of 31-May-2023.

nope. Didn't visit those countries. But my experience with SIMBA roaming is seamless. Though simba said it's roaming ready, at the end point, it's down to the phone and it's settings. I'm using Galaxy S21+ on eSIM. APN set to TPG, data roaming on, network selection automatic.

Should anyone encounter issues with no network, do restart your phone, it's is always advised even if you buy ICC roaming cards. Make sure the SIMBA sim is set as default. Some people have dual-sim in their phones, they have to make SIMBA the primary, and set data usage as SIMBA. Also if one have dual-sim, make SIMBA Sim in the SIM 1 slot. This is what I learn from using ICC card, make the roaming card as SIM 1, your local other SIM as SIM 2.

Next if can't using automatic, switch to manual and manually select the network listed on SIMBA website. If it's still can't then it's the roaming partner issue. Can't really blame SIMBA. When people go overseas, whether you can roam or not, it's dependant on roaming partner. It's stated on telco website, that's for M1, Starhub Singtel too.

Though data roaming is set on, android phones might restrict it due to data limit reached. I've seen people don't have data is because their data limit reached and data automatically turned off.

tks for clear explanation. As experienced I once had another phone suddenly can't hotspot the main simba. I realised data limit was set. So pls do not set data Ltd.

I did all of those you mentioned, including making Simba in the first sim slot and manual network selection. If it doesn't work in one of the country, maybe it is still acceptable. But both countries (Group A and C) don't work, I'm not sure it is partner's issue. Especially when the hiCard on the 2nd sim slot, can connect to local partner network just fine.
I just want to share that Simba doesn't work in Turkey and Bulgaria. If anyone has successfully make it work there, I'd love to hear about it, and figure out what the difference is that I missed. But if no one ever made it to work in Turkey and Bulgaria, maybe better to remove them from the list of supported countries.

Did you contact or emailed Simba about this issue?

Most of the European countries roaming partners are using Orange World as the APN, probably the profile was not downloaded automatically onto the phone. Don’t hard-code TPG into the APN, it may not work when roaming in Europe.

If this is the case, Simba should come out with a list of APN to be used. But all they did was kept telling customers to set TPG as APN.

SO, Orange World is the APN to be set? Or do you have a example?

The Orange APNs are used when roaming to some countries. In the normal course of use, you should not see these APNs unless you are outside of Singapore. However, in some rare cases usually due to proximity to the border with our neighbouring countries.

Please select APN manually, then either Power Off your phone and Power On again or switch momentarily to “Aeroplane mode” and back. Note that there will be an approximately 3-minute delay before you are back on the SIMBA network.

Do you have 5G SIMBA in the 5G areas?

Not sure about the iPhone yet. I will test it out later at PLQ..
remember to set your network to 5G auto or 5G on. Now many places have 5G NSA, not limited to Vivo or PLQ. Check out nPerf, lots of roads have 5G. If you have nPerf, can try to map out the 5G areas, so people will know where 5G areas are at.
