SIMBA should be rolling out their 5G SA service plan soon.

They are already beginning the installation of 5G base station at HDB rooftop.

Any idea are they using Huawei 5G base station? I hope is Huawei!

ZYM and Vivifi have been touting $10 plans for a few weeks now. China Mobile as well.

If we in Msia can voice call sg hp in singapore using our phone's native dialer right? Or need to install and use the SIMBA voice app?

If to SG & network support VoLTE then just dial direct but put +65.
....if network doesn't support VoLTE then use SIMBA app but put +65

If to MY's number, VoLTE supported, just dial direct, put +60 in front for in case.
... VoLTE not supported then use app, +60 in case

Simba private number perm activation
Activate - *31# dial
Deactivate - #31# dial

above is not for simba voice app but default phone dailer

U can set the SIMBA Voice App to make outgoing private calls, or when u need to call forwarding.
Meaning when u use native voice call app, your number will appear and when u use simba voice app, your number will be private. When I need to return calls to unknow number, I use private call to return.

For making calls to +65 numbers while you are overseas, both Native and SIMBA Voice app function the same.

To set private call, go to simba app settings, under calls, under show My Calling ID, select hide.

If are using 2 mobile phones, u can install SIMBA Voice app on your secondary phone, this way your are able to make calls using the same number on both phones.. So many ways you can make use of the simba voice app.

Problem with masked numbers - most people don't answer private. Phones are also set to auto-reject, especially if you have some built-in spam blocker active like Samsung phones using Hiya.

True... I see private # I dun answer. But I guess people use it for work use more often than calling family and friends.

Yup, I used it for work purpose. Friends and family, I dun hide my number.

From my experience, scammers/robo callers have also used private numbers.

I've set mine on auto-reject, so even if it's work too bad. My parents have also requested to block unknown numbers because of a few robocalls from private numbers, so hidden caller-ID is always blocked even if you call back.

Unless it's the police calling on a private number, there's no reason for anyone else to. Even so, the police will call back on a listed number. Especially if it's for work, since the assumption is that work phone costs are covered by the company.

Yeah, There are many non +65 now. I've also stopped using my personal number for sign ups, and started switching non-essential accounts to my work mobile number.

I never expected private numbers to be robocallers either, but when my parents kenna more than once a couple of months back, we blocked them all as a family. My mom is vulnerable, and my dad less so, but vulnerable too cos they're getting more sophisticated.

Older folks are more vulnerable. Just dun answer and unknown numbers the safest.
