Collected liao.

Thanks for all the help.
Singtel, my previous Telco, has already cut me off (at about 11.05pm) but SIMBA hasn't turned on or ported over yet.

I've already set "TPG" for Name & APN.
Under "Carrier/Operator" still indicated as "No services"
VoLTE is already enabled.

Anything else I'm missing?

I presume SIMBA has to Enable for me to access SIMBA's network.

Thanks.

Yesterday when I applied online to port over to SIMBA, there was a place asking for a Password. I entered but I don't see it being asked anywhere, not by the app etc.

Do you know where it will be used?

Thanks

Anyone has any experience using the SIMBA 10GB roaming plan in the US? How is the connectivity and does it allow for mobile hotspot / tethering? The alternative is to go with the Celcom / DiGi roaming plan but it's more of a hassle to maintain a Malaysian SIM card, especially with the limited validity period. I am looking at the local US prepaid plans and they are so expensive so it really makes sense to rely on a foreign provider via data roaming.

I think many pages back in this thread, someone shared his/her experience roaming in the United States of America. It is all seamless and no issues with data internet. Connectivity depends on their roaming partner. Their roaming partner is AT&T and T Mobile, both are establised network oeprators in USA, so don't worry.

Mobile Data hotspot is phone depending, not on simba side. You have to turn on hotspot sharing from your phone to share your internet while in Singapore or roaming. Cheers

Was in korea last week with simba 10gb roaming plan, unable to hotspot. Using Iphone 14pro.

Also, i find that the roaming data speed is not as good as local sim.

as for hotspot, are you able to do it locally? If not, need to set APN for hotspot

Can search for "Celcom Prepaid Roaming" on Google for more details - their website not very intuitive. If I am not wrong, it's RM98 for a 30-day unlimited pass which applies for 57 countries. Fair use policy of 2GB per day so it's probably more useful for heavy data users. Hassle is maintaining the line and it will be a waste if you don't travel to Malaysia frequently (to use the local data).

Thanks! This is really helpful. So far I have been able to use hotspot sharing (on my Samsung phone) in Singapore and Malaysia so hopefully no issues. I have experienced certain travel SIM cards which disable the hotspot sharing function when you are roaming out of network, i.e. the function is completely disabled. Fingers crossed it doesn't apply to SIMBA roaming in USA.

Not good for me in the central eastern US. Couldn't connect to US telco with 2 different phones 4 mths ago. No issue with connecting to telco network of transit country in Europe.
