Just got simba $10 sim yesterday. Today using it with Samsung a54. Pretty good. Volte enabled. Smooth network speed.

If go in to jb msia do I need to enable anything or any settings to use the free 1gb data roaming that comes with the plan?

Thanks.

Enable roaming on your handset.

Nothing else.

Just enable autoroam on phone. It should auto connect in Malaysia.

Wrote in to SIMBA about 5G. Cryptic response. They said their 5G NSA trial has ended, ask me to enjoy premium 4G experience. You see their website has systematically removed all mention of 5G as well. My guess is they are rolling back 5G commitment as they are not willing to invest the additional overheads to increase throughput for the demand. They got 660k subscribers, if each only subscribe to $10 plan, that's only $6.6 million a month or $79.2 million a year. With their overheads, I wonder how to recover investments?

Ok, now that my simba is prepaid. Are there any ways to convert it to postpaid? Be it still with Simba or other telco/mvno

IMHO.
With 2.5Gbps fiber broadband.
Also can do NDP promo - recharge $20 free $5. Take $ and put in their bank.

IMHO.
My location has been in existence for > 10 years.
TPG, being new and MNO, has every opportunity to built a good network for connectivity and speed.

Perhaps you could have missed out this important point.

* Mobile data speed/bandwidth can vary greatly at the exact same location with the same telco at different time of the day.

Let me share my usual speed with TPG

Time / Download / Upload
1452 / 3.96 / 3.86
1403 / 3.93 / 1.66
1011 / 2.15 / 0.73
0834 / 1.91 / 1.09
0645 / 36.7 / 1.61

Looking at your home speed, you can test Zym and Heya.Sg, easily exceed 100 Mbps and many time faster in upload speed. Also no contract. YMMV.

P.S. I am being nice saying 12 Mbps. :ROFLMAO:
looks like some of you do a lot of speed tests all the time LOL

1 issue is not able to hotspot in china. i amvery sure, i have the apn settings right but once u are overseas, u cant see the settings
Are you using iPhone? I only heard iPhones having these weird problem. On Android, the hotspot sharing is dependant on your phone settings and not mobile operator.

I also think you never set up your hotspot apn. I've seen people iPhone don't have the hotspot settings before, but after some set up done, it will appear. iPhone APN settings there, there is a separate APN settings for hotspot, so please ensure the hotspot APN is set to tpg.

IMHO.
Tuas is big leh !
Which part of Tuas? If you are talking about Tuas South, it's quite good. Tuas South is also quite big, my experience from Tuas Viaduct to Tuas South Street 12 area has been very good. I see there are quite a lot of simba antennas around Tuas South. I have used starhub and singtel in Tuas South before, many times they dropped to 3G and no data through. M1 is pretty fine there.

Simba performs the best there for me. I think it's because Tuas South is quite an open area and new place that was recently built up, hence Simba has the opportunity to deploy their infrastructure there. They recently deployed 5G NSA is many places in Tuas South, you can refer network coverage on nPerf website. You can also see where is their 5G coverage in Tuas South.

Anything beyond Lamp Post 1 have yet to be verified.
