IMHO.
You should see in high footfall places they can do 3-digit speed. Unless you mean their 5G BW is 2 digit only.
They have their reasons. You can also feedback to them the unhealthy speed in ur area. I did that. And eventually it improved 10 fold. Haha.

True.... but with knowledge being available easily, not difficult to find out the cause of why SIMBA's 5G still cannot be compared to the big 3.
Agreed too, without SIMBA, guaranteed that cost will inflate significantly like the past, MVNOs consolidating, especially direct subsidaries like GIGA/GOMO etc. and measly/zero benefits and data allowances.
Dark times if it ends up in this situation...
IMHO.
In your humble opinion, what should be an acceptable 4G and 5G speed for Simba ?
Is 5G at 11.1 / 0.55 acceptable ?

Simba CSO replied me :

*As per checking, speed is within its expectation.

Typical download speed for 4G/LTE: Between 5Mbps - 50Mbps & the typical upload is 2Mbps - 10Mbps.
Typical download speed for 5G: Between 10Mbps - 100Mbps & the typical upload speed is 5Mbps - 20Mbps.

The strength of a mobile signal is dependent on several factors including but not limited to; LTE coverage of the user’s location, handset / device used, software configuration and the number of users simultaneously using the network.

They will have their own reasons but I don't think is technology related.
With today's technology, still need to feedback on speed? If want to know, sure will know.
Why I am still a TPG subscriber? Every time I can do speedtest to remind myself how slow they are for me. :ROFLMAO:

You can always leave and come back later if they improve. No contract to hold you back. Complaining all the time will not help.

I believe they r working hard, so im not going anywhere yet.

Yes, most don't understand this, SIMBA only got awarded scraps, while the main 3 had the main share of the pie.
M1's 5G is cui too, non-existent back then even at stated areas where there is supposed to be 5G when I was with them, while Starhub is generally fine though both sharing infra.
Singtel is better but cost isn't cheap.
IMHO.
One of my household member happily using M1 5G.

Why would you even think I am complaining ? :ROFLMAO:
I am just posting my experience on my usage. :ROFLMAO:

Most will probably like what you have said, leave or may also believe they are working hard and stay put. Doesn't mean everyone will be like that.

If you can't use it to ur sastifactory, why not leave, most people will leave. My wife told me shes not receiving sms timely on simba so i moved her to another telco. If it does not meet ur needs, just move. But if one just want to see 500mbps on their speedtest, now this is a joker.

I love simba Roaming perks. That's all.
Free call back to Singapore.
Cheap data roaming.
Cheap IDD call if needed.

I will waiting for Singapore to release 3G frequency which is coming in 31 July 24. Hopefully Simba can grab more 5g spectrum to increase its bandwidth.

The 3G frequency will just be reused by the original telcos for 5G. So big 3 5G speeds will be even faster. Simba speeds no change because they have no 3G.

According to the article, IMDA will reallocate the band via auction/bidding. Seems like they did the auction in 2021. Dont know the result.

https://www.imda.gov.sg/resources/p...pectrum-bands-to-all-mobile-network-operators

IMDA intends to allocate the new spectrum via auction, open to all existing MNOs if the MNOs wish to participate. Through the market-based approach, bidders will get the flexibility to decide how much spectrum they require. All 2.1 GHz spectrum right holders must meet baseline regulatory requirements, consistent with the requirements on holders of the first tranche of 5G spectrum allocated through IMDA’s 5G CFP held in 2020. IMDA intends to hold the auction towards the end of 2021. As part of the auction design, IMDA intends to set aside some 2.1 GHz spectrum for the continued provision of 3G services in Singapore, for consumers who choose to continue to use these services.

Yes, it is "acceptable" now due to cirumstances not within control by SIMBA.
Basically to each its own, what works for me, might not work for you.

Result out liao.

The 3G spectrum is listed under FROR section and it will expire in 2036.

There are 5G from Simba that is at higher speed.
Why would it be due to circumstances not within control by SIMBA ?
You know for a fact that it circumstances not within control by SIMBA or based on the assumption based on your knowledge ?
What are the speed you're getting for Simba 5G for comparison ?

For the past few days I decided not to hooked up to my home WiFi & depended solely on SIMBA for my phone's surfing. My phone is only a 4G unit.

My speed test: Download is less than 20 Mbps; Upload is less than 3 Mbps. In toilet signal is so low I can't even do speed test.

However all these don't impact my usage at home, in fact I don't even notice the difference between WiFi enabled or not.

Others may have different experiences.
