can someone help me?

im currently travelling in japan and Simba is totally useless. i dont have internet have the time even though my signal is LTE full bar. even when i do have the internet is super slow like ADSL speeds

the KDDI and au networks seem to be really lousy. forget about using the internet while on the go in trains, but even in the Shibya area the network is so slow as to be borderline unusable.

any settings i need to do to improve the situation? or is Simba just hopeless in Japan? am seriously thinking of just getting one of the local overpriced esim because its so difficult to travel without a reliable internet connection
How much is the local esim? I think you can get instant esim activation from online shopee app once paid, can be from a few dollars to 10+ depending on your data requirements

Changed my plan on 29th Aug from 300gb to 200gb due to under usage. Then hearsay from frens that eight is better then went to sign up on 3rd Sep. Indeed the network is much better and i want to port-out from Simba. CS is damn slow and only replying emails once a day. Their last reply as below.

Please help check below prior submitting request to port-out your number from SIMBA.

a) SIMBA plan renewal date.
Submit your request at least 7 business days before the end of your current cycle to prevent plan renewal.

b) SIMBA account is not less than 30days
An activation fee of $30 is chargeable for port-out within 30 days of plan activation.

Note: Customer must need to pay the activation fee or at Kaki Bukit and Orchard Central.

Im ok to pay $30 activation fee but still have to wait until 7 days before end of current cycle? And really have to go down personally to pay activation fee?

What would be the best method as i want to port out asap.

Thanks all!

Do you still have balance in your simba wallet? If yes, you might want to use finish before porting out as it will be forfeited.

Check your cycle date, simba starts billing your 7 days before your next cycle. So it's best to port out before the 7 days cycle. I.e say if your cycle starts 21st, best to initiate port out latest by 13th (play safe 8 days) if porting delays.

Initiate sign up and port in (at eight) in the morning or afternoon to make the cut for port in on the same day. Don't sign up too late like 5 or 6pm, you might not make the cut for port in same day, otherwise it will be next day.

Next how many months have you been on simba? If you have been on simba for more than 30 days, you can port out with no fees. If under 30 days, you have to pay termination fee.

No balance in simba wallet.

Next billing cycle date is 27th Sep, so i will initiate port-out on 19th Sep then.

I already sign-up on 'eight' and was informed port-in unsuccessful due to Simba, so i can inform 'eight' during this 8 days period to port-in?

I had been on Simba for almost a year but was foolish to changed to 200gb last month so still under 30 days.

i think because you change of plan, hence you have to complete the 30-days as well. If you never change plan, i think still can port.

Try again lor on 19th

My wallet is tied to a credit card and they said that’s fine - don’t need to top up as it will automatically be deducted from my credit card. Is that not the case?
Nope. Credit card is only for subscriptions payment. Any excess will be deducted from your wallet balance. If wallet balance not enough, you can’t send the sms or use the service you want.

your credit card won’t be touched other than subscriptions.

Plan Renewal, Basic Plan, Termination
• Unsuccessful payment for plan renewal will result in a reversion to a Basic Plan which includes only Basic Data Services (192Kbps), incoming calls, and SMS.
This means that you will not be able to enjoy full-speed data, make any outgoing calls, or send SMS. This Basic Plan will continue for 21 days unless the Main Plan is renewed successfully.
Your plan will be terminated for non-payment after this 21 days Basic Plan cycle. All wallet balances will be forfeited.

Any idea if one can port out while in Basic Plan ?

Just ported over three numbers for my family to SIMBA late August. Collected SIM cards on a Thursday, porting over was successful and activated by the next day.

I've recently purchased a new SIMBA Mobile and urgently need to travel abroad for a long-term project. I forgot to top up my account, so once my SIM-only plan expired, I renewed it right away.

Now that I'm overseas, I can receive roaming calls but not SMS messages. I need an OTP urgently and have already reached out to SIMBA support via their web form, but it's taking a while.

I wrote to SIMBA using webform. They asked for my NRIC, NAME, PLAN, Email, and Address details. I shared it with them yesterday. So far no reply.

How can I resolve this issue quickly? I’m connected to Wi-Fi and not using mobile data.

Please help!
Thanks

If wifi calling works for you, try turning that on.
