Circle line between Serangoon to Buona Vista quite chui for Simba.
my game lost connections a few times along the journey.
Will try with eight next trip.
eight will have better connection, but what i feel is that their ping latency is higher than simba. So if you play games, eight might have problem with ping

for sms to work, you need to connect to mobile network, not wifi..
Since I can receive calls from Singapore numbers while overseas I am registered to Mobile network.
While overseas, I can receive SMS from an overseas number. for example, I am in Nepal, I can receive SMS from Nepal numbers but not from Singapore numbers

I received the following question from SIMBA related to not receiving SMS from Singapore numbers while overseas

Dear Customer,

May we please ask you to answer and perform the below guidelines to help with our investigation?

1. Confirm your mobile number:
2. Confirm your roaming country:
3. Confirm signal bar(s):
4. Confirm the exact handset model:
5. Confirm Data Roaming is enabled:
6. Confirm handset restarted:
7. Confirm 5G and VoLTE setting is enabled on the handset:
8. Confirm that handset is running on latest firmware version:
9. Confirm date/time and the sender f SMS/OTP:

Please also share a clear screenshot of the following:
a. Data Roaming showing enabled.
b. Network mode showing set to 5G/4G/LTE or automatic.
c. APN setting
d. 5G and VoLTE setting is enabled on the handset.
e. Roaming partner telco the device is connected.
Previously, I used an M1 plan and never had to turn on data to receive SMS.
I have a few questions about using my phone abroad.

1. Do I need to enable data roaming when traveling internationally to receive SMS, and can I avoid high charges just for receiving text messages if data roaming is required?

2. I'm sure that my father's M1 subscription doesn’t need data roaming to receive SMS from Singapore numbers while he's overseas.

3. Can I insert a SIMBA SIM into a basic Nokia phone with Symbian OS and still receive SMS?

4. I'm confused because I can receive SMS from local numbers(while in overseas, roaming country) while I'm abroad, but not from Singapore numbers. Why might this be happening?

4G is pure data network right ? In 3G, no data is required for SMS delivery, but in 4G, I suspect it is probably required, although it might be possible to route that thru wifi calling, provided that is working.

M1 customers are able to receive SMS overseas without data roaming after 3G shutdown, since they might still be able to connect to roaming partners that still have 3G. I am not sure if that still works if the roaming partner no longer operates 3G and data roaming is off.

Are you connected on 3G or 4G network during roaming ?
Have you tried forcing to 3G or 4G ?

I am doubtful that the SIMBA sim on Nokia Symbian OS would make any difference with regards to receiving SMS.

The best part is that you can receive local SMS, which for them is an international SMS from a billing point of view. I wonder if that is routed locally within the roaming partner's network or back to SG first. If it is routed locally, then this behavior can be explained, but I have doubts that is the case though.

Don't think VoLTE support is an issue here, M1 customers are able to receive SMS in SG after 3G shutdown, it goes to show that 4G with data, without VoLTE, can still deliver SMS, at least in M1's case.

i tried that already. It either says call failed or says this service isnt available please contact support.tpgmobile.sg
Hmm, are you using vowifi to call or on 4G Volte? I previously have issues with simba with vowifi on my company wifi network. I have to switch to volte to call.

Otherwise, try using simba voice app to call.

tried the app as well doesnt work. Its only the calls to countries not part of IDD which doesnt work. Normal sg calls work. Volte is on vowifi isnt supported.

That's weird, isn't UK part of the IDD countries. I clicked on the drop down menu and saw the rates to UK.
But it works for other countries?

Huh? What are you talking about?

you want to receive otp from your kids line, to your own number?
Then you need to contact that service to change your contact number. Nothing to do with simba or telco

i.e your DBS is 98xx xxx0, you want to receive OTP on 83xx xxx4, then you have to contact DBS. Not simba

No balance in simba wallet.

Next billing cycle date is 27th Sep, so i will initiate port-out on 19th Sep then.

I already sign-up on 'eight' and was informed port-in unsuccessful due to Simba, so i can inform 'eight' during this 8 days period to port-in?

I had been on Simba for almost a year but was foolish to changed to 200gb last month so still under 30 days.
Simba termination fee has to be paid over the counter at Orchard Central or Kaki Bukit. No other way to pay.
