Just a day to Batu Pahat and back, my became Orange France and refused to get a network until I got home, removed and reinsert the SIM card.

The least problem in my iPhones now is Eight.

Not sinktel nor m1, so I can't say more expensive is good.

And an iPhone can last many years, as opposed to some phones at quarter the price but not even quarter the lifespan.

iPhone always have this issue with Simba, apn issues, separate apn for hotspot. 4G become LTE. 5g Auto, or 5G on.

Android no such issues. Android is everything auto, more user friendly

Or the activation code can be reused as long as I have it?

Not true from what I see. First time I encountered this since TPG first launched, and not that long ago someone shared similar incident here, though I don't know what phone.

And having come from Android...

Just an update, I have horrible ping times when roaming in the UK with any telco which is specifically unbearable when i change the sim profile to Alt profile.

Like it takes up to 10+ secs to load up a single website. I thought using Orange France Carrier settings would allow the data to be routed through france but that is not the case. All data is still routed through SG which is a long way back.

I can only imagine how bad it would be in the US.

Is it better to simply get an esim or prepaid at the airport then? for europe, or those at shopee before flying.

my simba become Orange France for a couple of months already.. im using esim so cant remove and reinsert SIM.. but so far using without issues.. when to malaysia and hong kong and was able to switch networks on its own.

Yes, my eSIM in iPad has been Orange France from Day 1, right in their service center. No problem with that too.

Just that yesterday's experience reminded me of someone who's not too long ago experienced similar issue after his travel, and in the end had to visit the service center where they replaced the SIM card after not being able to solve the problem.

I have a UK sim but I was just giving out info that you shouldnt be relying on simba too much for overseas trip.

For the "Orange France" issue, I delete the eSIM from my iPhone and then add it back again using the same QR code. Never have the same issue again...

So long as we're not expected to go get a new SIM or eSIM each time it happens, just because they're still clueless what's going on.

Ported from GOMO 5G (biz line) to SIMBA 5G plan for close to 3 weeks, sharing my experience so far:

1. Supposed to activate online (physical sim with delivery) but unable to do so. Bobian had to go lunch/nearby service centre activate. Ported over successfully 2 days later despite the CS guy telling me may be up to 1 week cause many customers.
2. Despite activating my SIM overseas, I was able to data roam without any issues with default APN settings (read that I have to do it in SG before flying off but I guess now don't need liao).
3. Data connectivity overseas- was travelling in Europe jumping from main capital cities to more ulu areas/cities:
- Had another Shopee Travel Esim to compare with, connectivity/signal coverage quite on par.
- Though I must say coverage are not that good in more ulu areas/cities: constantly jumping between 3G to 5G
- Speed wise quite good
4. Data coverage in SG:
- Still monitoring but I can see that it jumps more frequently between 4G+ and 5G compared to GOMO. Speed wise quite ok.
- Will test speed and coverage/blind spots when I get the chance to travel to office this week.

I won't risk it. Just head to one of their service centers and get it done today. Orchard or Kaki Bukit.
