The bank app can check what r the other app installed on your phone?

that phone was "clean" except for weixin.

tried on my other phone, using fdroid and other repos. almost all banking apps rejected it.

i suspect they check where "suspect" apps are installed from. playstore or sideloaded.

edit: there is a permission to check what other apps are installed/running.

the bank apps check all the installed apps, for both side loads app and playstore apps.

maybe they changed policy recently. 1 month ago, app refused to work saying i got unsafe apps. checked at counter, the first thing they asked if i installed weixin. i said yes. she asked why i need weixin. i told her to contact friends and relatives.... she told me get another phone then. i moved my account to another bank instead.
Maybe it's through your introduction to weixin so now they start to accept it :ROFLMAO:
But simba voice app downloaded from web wasnt accepted by Maybank (lite) the moment i saw the prompt i deleted it. I didn't bother to open all other banks to test.
So far i often ganna prompted when stuffs are not downloaded from playstore. I think they use playstore as a guage for those using android.

yes, this is one of their main criteria. it is not a foolproof gauge, given the many known cases of malware that stayed there for months.

Guess it defeats my porting purpose, will keep testing with the two nonVoLTE devices and if the network is still undetectable, might consider port out after 30 days minimum period subscription and use my tablet phones without call. 😌

on the positive side, you will find the lack of spam calls amazingly refreshing ;)

apps can do a lot dirty "checks" on android. There are always ways to collect your data.
iOS is indeed safer. No known hacks to check for installed apps on ios

collecting data is normal and given in today context…
but for an app that sneak ard the phone to see what others apps are installed … that is bad

I'm currently using SIMBA pSIM.

How do I change the pSIM to eSIM? What's the process like?

Please advise, thanks!
