It seems that roaming calls from and to SG mobile numbers are always free even with normal phone calls, without using Simba voice. Can anyone confirm?

Original words from https://support.simba.sg/hc/en-us/articles/4487047558681-Does-roaming-cover-calls-and-SMS :

1. Calls to and from Singapore do not have additional roaming charges.
2. Outgoing calls to any Singapore mobile number is free, while outgoing calls to a Singapore fixed line will be deducted from the plan’s Local Fixed Line Minutes allowance (Please add +65 if you are making calls to Singapore while roaming)
Yes, no need simba voice actually to call singapore. Simba voice is to use vowifi for calls if no volte.

If no more Simba voice app. Go roaming countries without Volte how ah ..
.
Which is a mistake made by Simba for removing the voice app in Google Playstore, Apple AppStore still have the Simba Voice App though.

Can see that not all countries have VOLTE support for Simba call roaming. Think for now need to standby a spare iPhone when going overseas to call via Simba voice app.

Some users here either have low expectations or just use Simba as spare/very minimally etc thus their reviews.. I can say just take it with a pinch of salt. My Eight data roaming in Johor Malaysia also way more stable and higher speeds than Simba. I previously read these good comments thus ported in from GOMO as my biz line and since then I've never used Simba locally for data other than overseas calls and roaming. If not bcoz of these value-adds I would have ported out of Simba long ago lol. Gonna try their inflight data roam (aeromobile) soon will feedback.
i've tried simba's inflight roaming (aeromobile on CX flight) before.. the connection will be 3G only and the speed is alot slower than the inflight wifi.. so in the end i used the inflight wifi instead. but useful if you need to receive cellular calls or SMS (OTP and etc).

IMHO.
So even got 5G but no VoLTE, cannot make call is it ?
Yep, 5G is just for data roaming, using mobile data on the go.

VOLTE is for calling. Hence, Simba need to up the ante by providing VOLTE for all roaming countries. Otherwise, reinstate the app in Android so that users can call back Singapore for free when data (2G and above) / wifi in roaming countries is available

Yeap still $5.
I got a second SIMBA data-only SIM a few days ago. :D
wow. why did you get a second one?

I read the CIS, it's a recurring one though. I though they would allow you like pay for one month, then resume when you need say for 3rd month.

I was hesitating quite a bit when 8 came up with their data-only plan. No number yet same price. I was still a bigger 8 fan than Simba back then.

But when the provider of my $10 Simba plan came up with a $5 data-only one, though still no number, I sucked it up and got it for my iPad. Seamless roaming for my JB trips so far. 👍
