Ok tried and reporting on my experience:
  • Signed up for the $5 300GB data-only plan
  • Set up as follows:
    • Sim-card is in an old unused Redmi 8 phone - annoyingly, my USB 4G dongle does not support Simba's frequencies (no issues with the other telcos)
    • Phone is linked to my Asus router's USB port, with USB tethering enabled
  • The initial speedtest which I did at my parents' house in the west got me excited - got ~40 mbps download
  • Unfortunately, at my house (central area), the download speed ranged from about 2 mbps during the evening peak hours to 10 mbps in the off-peak hours (around 11pm onwards).
  • That said, the speed is still usable for my usage patterns (surf webpages, watch Youtube and Netflix), but definitely Eight is more stable and faster (with a higher price point).
For now, I'll stick to the Simba plan, but will continue to monitor the offers by telcos and see if there's other similar offers.

If you can get 50Mbps download and 10mbps upload at home location means very good already.
The norm is 15dl and 5ul speed on 5G network.

I cannot get Simba at 5G where my router is located. So it operates at 4G only.
But I get 100Mbps download speed.

With giga 5G, I get about 300Mbps.
I'm using tp-link deco X50-5G router, with wifi 6.

Hi everyone, need some clarification about porting from Circles to SIMBA:
  • I signed up with SIMBA this morning and requested to port in my existing number. I received the eSIM and QR code via email and activated it.
  • Circles sent me an email requesting identity verification. After calling them, the verification was successful and I received a confirmation email for the port-out request.
On the call, the Circles rep mentioned that I might need to call SIMBA customer service to initiate the port-in process on their side. Is that actually necessary, or will everything be handled automatically in the backend?

Appreciate any help!

Roaming in Taipei is a breeze. Connect is good and stable. Never need to worry about my 2 children getting lost.
But i rented a changi wifi router as the 2 children is always on you tube. 3Gb roam is not enough for them.

. Simba in korea is 4G+ only and no problem using the internet.
. Calling local phone # is deducted from the IDD call minutes.
. No problem calling sg too.

Zym in Korea is 5G. Also no problem using the internet.

If have the solid white background 5G logo. I can get almost 200Mbps dl and 30Mbps ul speed. Location Amk area. But if logo is 5G transparent background then mostly only 30Mbps dl.

Using my Simba new line at JB. Roaming was with Celcom. However, no Volte was available. Hence unable to make IDD to local calls nor to SG landlines. Using manual network selection, only able to select Celcom 4G, and Volte unavailable.

Whereas, Vivifi roaming on Maxis, Volte was available.

Anyone, has similar experience ? In SG, Volte is always available.
