Also note that you number needs to be non-special/lucky number.

Simba is good with its 7GB oversea at just $12,,, and it has more tied up with its oversea to have IDD call compared to Eight where for 6 GB oversea, will cost $18.

For those who will need to be contacted by banks or clients/customers who will not use whatapps..... SIMBA is a better choice.

All I can say SIMBA has coverage challenge in Sgp.. but once u get out...... it is very good due to their roaming partners.

Can just choose regular top-up of $10 or $20. System will deduct $5 monthly.

Has anyone made use of the SIMBA roaming can call back to Singapore from overseas?

I am asking this is because in the past I used to call back home from overseas using Skype.

But with Skype going to shut down in May and I found out Simba roaming can allow users to call back home to Singapore without incur those expensive IDD charges, so want to ask if anyone used it before?

Yes, call anywhere to anywhere for free. I've used that in many countries already.

Ok, a few questions:

1) So all I need to do is to ensure the local network detected (auto detect?) by my phone SIMBA sim card is VoLTE enabled before making the call home?

2) Did you switch off your phone data reception before making the call?

3) Once connected to the local network (via auto detect), just dial home by press +65 (Singapore number)?

Just some noob questions here, as the shutting down of Skype in May caught me by surprise

Just use the phone normally like in sg. Only difference is to add +65 or whatever country code u r calling. U can also use the Simba voice app.

U can try calling other countries like dbs Malaysia hotline in sg to practice first.

Using Mobifone data roaming in Vietnam HCM now (auto connected to Vietnamobile but data was crap). Flawless so far touring around with 4G+/5G. Didn't have to rely on any local SIM from airport to town etc.

When you say spotty issit out of town or? Cause I've been here a few days, I get perfect coverage, whereby my eight 10% of the time no data.

Thanks to your earlier reply.

You mentioned data has to be on so that VoLTE can be work?

Since we are at overseas using SIMBA sim card to tap on the local telco network, it would mean the "data roaming" has to be on in this case?

As first time be using this SIMBA roaming, so just need to be clear on these settings.

Could differ from from phone to phone depending on hardware.I get 4g+ to 5g from 30mbps lowest to 160mbps highest stable connection so far.
