guys,
do u think an older phone will have problem connecting to local network while oversea.
I had been to a few countries recently for work and last Saturday ,, went to JB as well.
I am using IP12 pro max and with a physical SIMBA simcard.
The issue when I am oversea, my sim card has problem detecting the local partner network.. i have to go into manual mode to select the local SIMBA partner network...... same issue happened in Shanghai, Seoul and JB.
Sometime in Sgp,, it will also have problem picking up SIMBA........ i had another esim of another telco... that one has no issue be it in Sg or oversea,
Is it my phone issue?
probably my phone has issue.i using Oneplus 5 with simba physical sim (2017 phone). no problems connecting. I just leave roaming on all the time.
friends/colleagues also on simba, using various oppo, realme, iphone (ranging from x to 16), all no problems.
Simba $12 plan not fighting back ah?
fight against which other plan?
chill. Can't go tit for tat retaliationSimba $12 plan not fighting back ah?
You are right. Actually hoping they would prioritise expanding their network capacity. Can feel it’s gotten worse the past year. Likely due to the number of new lines outstripping the network capacitychill. Can't go tit for tat retaliation
They offer different target markets. Simba goes for Hongkie 500GB which eight only Thailand. Simba can maybe give other countries to complement Thailand. Just wait
Is it? I find celcom always slow in different parts of Malaysia.... Even in jb ksl like you mentioned, it's always slow, to even load this forum.... I didn't do speed test, but just by looking at the page loading, can tell. It takes about maybe 3 seconds to load this forum for celcom, but instantly when using umobile..I was in JB, Celcom speed was very good.
Outside (in a coffee shop, behind KSL) I can get 80 Mbps to above 100 Mbps, inside City Square about 20 Mbps.
Didn't try the other Roaming partners. Digi 4G listed as Forbidden in my phone Roaming settings; Yes 4G not tag as Forbidden...but I only used Celcom.
i think latency matters too, not just mbps.Is it? I find celcom always slow in different parts of Malaysia.... Even in jb ksl like you mentioned, it's always slow, to even load this forum.... The only hassle is I have to always manual select umobile cos celcom is not loading as fast for me..
I'm on s25U by the way.. What phone are you using?
I think it's a movement in parallel ba. Signing with overseas telcos and open up roaming probably faster than installing base station. You are right. i've done speedtest in KSL before using celcom and umobile.. speedwise both is comparable and almost similar. but the latency on celcom is super high.Is it? 26gb global roaming is….amazing. Simba…waiting for your reply…

when roaming, all data packets need to go back to Sg first before they enter public Internet. on Singtel, it takes 15-30ms whereas on Eight (Starhub), Maxx (M1) and Simba, it’s more than 100ms.
if you want a snappier experience, go for Singtel and its mnvo’s.
But simba fix on umobile, latency lower and speed way faster vs celcom.. Next round try if digi works, even though now it's call digi celcom or the other way roundi've done speedtest in KSL before using celcom and umobile.. speedwise both is comparable and almost similar. but the latency on celcom is super high.
