Hi, I hope someone can let me...

1. If i port-in from other telco and I need physical SIM card...do i need to pay extra for the card?

2. Is there free caller-ID for SIMBA or need to pay ?

1. No need. Default is psim, unless u request for esim.
2. caller-id is free. roaming is free... call overseas or call from overseas are also free.

3. Is there minimum contract months (eg 6 mths or 12 mths) for signing up SIMBA plans ?
Minimum 30 days. You'll be charged the first bill upon port-in application.

If you choose their lucky number then 24 months. Can opt to terminate that if you pay for the unfinished months.

Does Simba work well in Korea and Vietnam?
SIMBA itself doesn't operate any mobile networks in those countries, but it has roaming network partners as follows (current partners, subject to change):
  • South Korea: KT and LG Uplus
  • North Korea: no roaming partner
  • Vietnam: Mobifone and Vietnamobile
LG Uplus also supports VoLTE. The other partners are data only partners. You might be able to use the SIMBA Voice mobile app for voice calling and SMS text messages over a roaming partner's data network (and over Wi-Fi). You might also get voice/SMS coverage from a 3G or 2G "fallback" network, although that's also speculative and subject to eventual 3G/2G network shutdowns.

Is SIMBA is the telco that has coverage to roaming to many countries in base plan?
SIMBA is one of them — and really pioneered that aspect of mobile plans offered in Singapore. Eight and M1 Maxx include similar international roaming scope (number of countries/territories) and allotments in their plans.

So as long as it connects to lg u plus, my mobile coverage will be as good as if I bought a lg!esim?

...I set manually to Mobifone when I was in VN too, had no issues. I didn't waste time to assess Vietnamobile
Using Mobifone data roaming in Vietnam HCM now (auto connected to Vietnamobile but data was crap). Flawless so far touring around with 4G+/5G. Didn't have to rely on any local SIM from airport to town etc.
Search this thread for more performance info of both

Recently changed Android phones and realized that SIMBA Voice is mo longer available from the Store. If I am traveling and want to make local calls, does that mean I now have to pay roaming charges? Is there a better alternative?

That's not a given. The roaming network partner needs to support 2G, 3G, VoLTE, or VoNR calling (when roaming with a SIMBA SIM/eSIM). Some do, some don't. And this assumes your device is compatible with whatever the roaming network partner is providing.
