Simba port in to eight, no need submit anything at simba side right, just apply with eight and they will work with simba side to terminate? Actually u so confident the port in will be completed by 16th to qualify for the 88 days?
Yes, need not deal with Simba unless port in has issue. The port in free 88 days has no issue as long as it is sign up by 16th, ie. port-in in progress does not affect the promo. My concern is actually whether I can grab the $88 promo actually.

I had signed up with Simba in Sept 2025, and frankly speaking, the roaming is great during overseas but local data/call is horrible. No signal whenever I walk through underpass to mrt, and once, the line was being cut off while I was on the line/
I guess it's time to switch over to Eight with a promo free 88 days. Any thought?

Thanks for the feedback, it looks like every user have different experience for both telco.

Thanks! Which telco are you using currently?

Indeed. For local usage, I will say Eight S$8 4G is a bit better than SIMBA.

I have terminated SIMBA since it is also not as good as Eight for my roaming test in South Fujian, China. Eight S$8 plan has only 2GB roaming data though. So I will get roaming China eSIM from Shopee for the future trips when needed.

Singtel SIM Only S$15.28 recontract offer, main line

Eight S$8 plan (with S$88 top up one to one offer, effective price S$4 per month for the next 22 months), backup line and also for roaming.

StarHub Prepaid S 5G plan, S$3 per month (migration offer from StarHub Happy Prepaid plan, mainly for number parking).

SIMBA S$12 plan, for testing only, terminated

M1 Maxx S$10 plan with 5G (new sign-up will get 4G only), terminated, ported out to CUniq, better than Eight 4G, SIMBA and CUniq 4G for local usage.

CUniq S$9.9 4G plan, for testing only, to be ported out to try other SIM Only plans, most likely CMLink.

Nevertheless, Simba does have an edge with its Voice app, be it as additional option to call locally/overseas. Or be it to be used for VoLTE 4G devices not supported by Simba or non-VoLTE 4G devices.

Not that important for most users who are using newer 5G or even 4G phones with VoLTE/VoWiFi function supported by Eight.

SIMBA is the only one among the main SIM Only plans I tried (Singtel SIM Only, Maxx, Eight, CUniq, SIMBA) which does not support VoWiFi for my Poco X7 Pro.

The voice app enables one to make calls on another phone that does not have the Simba SIM card. Meaning many people can use the same number to dial out all over the world.

Indeed, not essential for most people, just an added bonus. Probably handy for the minority who still like their older devices.

That is indeed a very nice feature (even though not that important for most users).

But I just checked and it is gone from Google Play Store.

I guess it is not officially supported by SIMBA now.

You nail it, actually one can use two phones with the same no. to play with. One phone uses the normal phone dialer, the other phone uses Voice app via wifi to dial in case the mother phone is not in hand. 😁

I tried SIMBA roaming voice and Eight roaming voice during my one week short trip to China, indeed the voice quality is better than WhatsApp Call and Wechat Call.

The main problem is that many phone numbers in China now block international calls and SMS by default, just like in Singapore.

It is easily available in many apk download websites. Sometimes, Play Store is not available is due to certain requirements not fulfilled but as a simple app, there is actually no security breached risk.

Yah, but can still download from Google Drive. I think can still find in Apple Store though.

for those older folks not on sns, calling them from overseas is a blessing now.

Good point, just checked on my wife's iPhone 14 and indeed "My SIMBA Voice" is still available from Apple App Store.

In that case, the app is still supported by SIMBA.

Since Apple App Store still has "My SIMBA Voice" app, then the app is still supported by SIMBA.

That being said, I no longer allow sideloading of 3rd party apps on my main Android phone ( with important apps like SingPass and local banking apps), including Huawei Health and some Chinese Entertainment apps. Now I only use my secondary Android phone to sideload Huawei Health app. I also use two China Huawei tablets to install Chinese Entertainment apps.

Last year my OCBC banking app would not load after detecting the presence of some Chinese Entertainment apps.
