Saw Facebook got ppl saying that after they used the roaming data for 2.5GB, their speed will be throttled to like 0.5Mbps kind of speed and before 2.5GB used up the speed is ok.

Yes, started from 1 May as i was staying at my fren jb place till now still the same, i observed as long as u exceed ard 2gb or so, they will cap ur speed to 500kpbs which is useless for most applications, any telco/mvno to recommend porting over for my roaming usage cos simba sucks now?

The price per day is the same, but the 90 day cycle is a longer commitment. If you can commit to 90 days at a time, the 90 day plan offers somewhat more generous allotments. Or, if the somewhat more generous allotments don't matter, stick to the $10/30 day plan.

Yes. It happened for me. Last time simba senior plan roaming 1gb only. Once use up it gets really slow. Probably enough for you to login to purchase more data.

Now the APAC is 5GB and Global 3GB and can roll over unused to 6 cycles, so should be good enough if travel every 3 months

it is not how much data u have it is about once u hit 2.5GB of usage a day, u get throttled the speed to 0.5Mbps according to some users reported

What it means is that even u have 500GB roaming data quota once hit the limit, ur usage is technically banned for the day.

Need more folks to report. Still, 2.5gb use per day is a lot. If one has 18gb of data, still can use more than a week overseas even if there is a FUP.

Just used SpeedTest tested, my Gomo 4G can hit download 128Mbps/Upload 11.3Mbps
while my SIMBA 5G download 49.3Mbps/Upload 16.1Mbps

simba with that dl speed is already good.. the last time i used it was max 15mbps !

I noticed after roll-over entitlements have been rolled out, mobile data speeds have become even slower.

SIMBA is getting slower, probably because more users now. I used to be able to get around 90mbps at home, now half the speed only. Haha.

For me no problem, dl movie, watch youtube, i use manual network selection. The speed is faster than in sg.

easy for telcos to identify and throttle/block hotspot use. very common in the US.

My personal experience, in general the speed for SIMBA is better overseas than locally.

My mom openly tells her friends and family that she uses her senior plan as a travel plan. Locally it's a backup plan but it's more useful overseas. Now with the shifts in the way they packaged data, it might be less value for money than some other plans.

Many ways to irritate others. Just now one tiong 60s woman talk so loudly in the mrt. No one wants to stop her.

If the FUP of 2-3 GB per day is true and permanent, Simba as a travel sim may not be worthwhile anymore compared to travel esims.

Most travel esim also have fup, especially those unlimited ones. Pay $10/mth get free roaming data up to 18gb. Very worthwhile.
