anyone here using NFC-enabled mobile devices still getting push notifications after tapped out?

i no longer get any push notifications when using mobile devices; only receive when using physical card.

according to simplygo CSO:
After our investigation, we have verified that the issue fix for the push notification issue will be done after 2-3 months due to the current system enhancement.
However, there will be a work-around to receive a notification by using the physical Visa card when tapping in and out on the gantry or bus reader.
Currently, the issue not receiving the push notification is when user taps in and out using their device and not the physical cards.
We seek your patience and understanding on the matter.
We sincerely apologize on the delay and inconvenience caused.
Have a pleasant day ahead.

Once I tap out using apple pay, my iPhone 7+ vibrates, but I don't see the notification on my lockscreen. However, once I unlock my phone the notification is there in the notification tray.

Ive enabled my UOB one card for transport. I can use the actual card to tap on MRt/bus but when i try to tap using the same card on mobile phone it says "insufficient funds". At my wits end, any advice?

Using google pay, no issues paying at all other shops.

Did you try removing and adding again? I had issue with card declined when I tried to use samsung pay to tap but after re-adding then ok

i suffered a 'missing exit' penalty yesterday in the simplyGo app and was charged extra 70 cents for the bus journey.

the stupid thing is, all the tapping was timestamped correctly in my Google pay app (which I used to tap in/out the bus).

they haven't charged the transaction yet (it's still dark grey, so cannot claim) but the amount is already "Pending" in my credit card (UOB). just anticipating - how long after I submit the claim will they rectify the charge? will it be refunded to my Gpay or my credit card account in this case...?

I recommend you to install sinplygo app if you have not done so. It allows you to track your bus/mrt transactions. Simply add your credit card to your simplygo account and the erroneous transaction will show up under your card and you submit a claim after a few days when the trip detail turned "green". Don't worry about googlepay or what's not, the refund is returned to your credit card.

i already have the simplygo app (which is how I was able to view the 'missing exit' penalty in one of the trips).

i'll submit the claim once the amount turns green... but i'm just wondering how long it takes to process the refund. ok so I get that the refund will be to my credit card. thanks!

The amout of time to process the claim and refund to your card varies. I think typically between 1 to 3 weeks.

The simplygo app has been a boon. I went back to review my past transactions, and found so many fares that were overcharged to me. average one every week. Most of them were missing entry and exits. Two of them were card reader errors, whereby the card reader logged the wrong entry or exit points.

Total sum recovered about $6 over a 1mth period, half of which is due to the 2 card reader errors.

I have not experienced card reader issues for around 2 years already by using credit card directly .... so I am curious ....

Did you use phone/NFC or card?

I use google pay. Is that NFC?

The more expensive one is a tap in for bus 145 at toa payoh bus interchange. For some reason, the tap in registered as a tap in for bus 145, but at Buona Vista Ter Bus Terminal instead. That's halfway across singapore! The tap out was registered correctly. So this trip ending up being charged to me as two seperate trips. The first one as a tap in at Buona Vista Ter Bus Terminal with missing entry, so i incur a full end to end bus fare of $2. Then get charged another fee for missing entry, and tap out at my destination.

The other one is probably more of bus captain error than card reader error. The bus took a wrong turn, and ended up lost. Went a pretty long distance, trying to find a place where it can U-Turn back to the correct route. Then when i was tapping out, i saw on the card reader, that it is showing the wrong bus stop (the tap out card reader supposed to show the current bus stop). It's probably tied to distance travelled by the bus. When i questioned the bus captain, he reassured me that the fare charged will still be correct. Spoiler alert: it wasn't, and i was overcharged.

You need to use the NFC functions on your phone to use Google pay.

My NFC sometimes also don't work all the time when using at payment (non-transport) terminals too. May have to try 2, 3 times before it goes through ..... So I never use NFC for transport ....

Also, it is good habit to check your transactions on SimplyGo every week or so, just to be sure .....
