Singapore is seeking clarity from China on how remitters can unlock their money after a fund-freeze scare in the world’s second-biggest economy, the island nation’s Minister of State said.

Relevant agencies have been engaging China’s government “so that the latter can provide information to help affected remitters understand how they can get their accounts and monies in China unfrozen by” law enforcement authorities there, Alvin Tan said in response to questions in Parliament.

It's to punish those who come sinkieland after Fujian gang saga. Spf think they can auction off the proceed and keep for themselves? Better return it to china

You might think of me as cruel. But why use your earnings(though not from our labour) to help non citizens? Well it is not exactly temasek investment asset in china that is being frozen

It's notvas if the remittance companies here stole the money. They had already wired the money over and the money already in the bank accounts. Just that ccp froze the account.

Strictly speaking, it's already none of our business. The tiongs here not happy can always go back to rob the banks to get their money back.
I was wondering why Singapore so concerned about the money that had left singapore's shores.

Scratching my head as well.
Yeah I know, right?

I mean, if they were this concerned when the victims of scam had their money fled overseas, then I would be happy. Like MAS contact the overseas authorities of the countries where the money was taken to by the scammers. But no such thing happened.

But in this case, I don't think it's even Singaporeans' money that is being affected. I am honestly puzzled.

CCP style mah, when something is used by anything they don't like, even if it's just 10% of it, they will punish 100% of it including 90% innocent people.

Simple reason is the lower ground blue collar foreign worker who earn honest living has been impacted. Many of them took loan, paid expensive agent fee to be here so to remit their hard earn salary back to their loved 1. Now is Chinese pawn Chinese can only blame the money laundry happen in Singapore..
because China is rule by man rather follow rule of law

It's to squeeze sg's balls first, later they will demand in exchange for the money laundering proceeds.
It’s their own citizens money lol

I hope we don’t waste any more taxpayer money follow up on this
