That means in year 10, so long as the marginal interest rate is higher than whatever else you can get now, you should hold on to it.

The average does not matter.
of for sure.

but am just saying that higher interest in the latter years don’t really matter if comparing over 10 years.

because is the average is what you actually get

Public announcement on MAS website. Apparently they are concerned people will do this:

  • Note: You do not need to submit a redemption request for bonds maturing the following month. The first tranches of SSBs will be maturing in 2025 (e.g. SBOCT15 GX15100F will mature on 1 October 2025). Your principal and the last interest payment will be automatically credited to your DCS bank account or SRS account upon maturity.
