Yes true. I still kept my 2nd citi maxigain at $10 inside just to maintain at counter 12. LoL
How do you keep only $10?

I thought Citi has a minimum 15k balance? If you fall below that, will be subjected to monthly charges right?

Wah! I already close it when the SIBOR drops like anything. Gone are the good old days. Lol.

Ever since Citi cut rates, i leave it at $0 balance, account still active now. :ROFLMAO:

No fall-below fee or anything.

But yes, i also wanna know how $10 works ... pretty interesting...

😂 I actually opted to shut my Citi account when the rates went down the drain.

Didn’t know I can keep it at $0 (nothing left for them to deduct lol)

I also almost closed the account but then went live chat and ask ask, and the reply was no fees will be charged if $0.

Maybank isavvy and isavvy-i still active with $500 inside though.

Heard from some cannot totally zero out.

Lazy to go down branch and close.

I have 2 maxigain accounts. Total aum is more than 15k. 1st is joint with my mum who still believes in money put in bank safer. That one is 70k max.

2nd maxigain gain is my own. leave $10 inside to clock the counter 12.

What's with the magic number $10?

My balance $0 now they have never deducted any fall below.

Wow. Does this apply to other banks too?

Like you withdraw till $0, they have no way to charge fall below fees? Or will some banks deduct into the negative region? O_O

Its an experiment to see if I can clock the stepup counters with $10 in one account and 70k in another. If interest rates are going to still suck over a year, at least I have a 0.61% bank (I emphasis bank) account readily available that I can rely on to generate interest.

I also did it with SCB JumpStart, RHB High Yield Savings Plus and CIMB FastSaver.

Interest rates for the 3 accounts all kena cut until run road.

The 3 above all mentioned on their websites that no fall-below fees will be charged.

Wonder if it's the same for SCB Bonu$aver, OCBC 360 and UOB One?

I opened an OCBC 360 account but never funded it. 6 months later OCBC sent me a letter saying they'll terminate it if no activity, and then a few months later it was closed automatically. So you can't just leave $0 in, must have some activity.

Ohh but there wasn't any fall below fee charged (into the negative region) right? :)

OCBC specifically likes to terminate unprofitable relationships.

They haven't been viewing their entry-level clients as people since 2018 or so, just as numbers in their database.
