i hv 2 accounts, same amount, same day but 1c difference in interest

Hi oceanicmanta, how to have 2 accounts? I was under the impression 1 person can only have 1 account.

Daily accrued. U can see it grows daily. (Can see cannot touch) Only once a month on account opening day this accrued interest is being deposited into your acc

I just got 0.67c today

Are both accounts same opening date? Same balance from the start of the cycle month?

I had 10k..but not sure y some of the day i got 67c..some days 68c

Day1,4,7,9 got 67c
Day2,3,5,6,8 got 68c

It doesn't matter it is 67c or 68c. So far the interest credited is rounded down to 2 decimal point of the total interest accumulated up to the previous day.

hey guys, i think i might have some discrepancy in my singlife interest earned.. i was asking their CSO who informed me that the daily interest rate earned is:

* (1 + 2.5%) ^(1/365.25) -1 = 0.00676% per day (=<$10k)

using same analogy for >$10k:

* (1 + 1.0%) ^(1/365.25) -1 = 0.00272% per day


i did up an excel sheet and responded to their cso email last thursday, but no response as of today.

don't want to throw in the numbers here to confuse, so will provide the summary which i sent to the CSO:
I opened my Singlife account on 8th March 2020, and I had only S$100 in it from 12th - end of March. I received $5.96 interest for Mar 2020. Just by looking at the surface numbers, it would make no sense that with at least S$10,000 for 15 days (1-15 Apr), my interest is only reflected as $6.71.

If your account open on 8th then the interest reflected in your account today is from 8th-Apr to 25th-Apr. The interest from 1st-Apr to 7th-Apr was already credited into your account together with those in March on 8th-Apr.

cos u mentioned in your reply to someone else.. to put his money in the "wife's" account but only he can access it..so i'm curious as to how he can prevent the "wife" from accessing it if using her hp number? Genuine question

Given the global interest rate environment, and the major economic slowdown, I would already be happy if they keep the 2.5% on 10k for some time and don't cut too soon.

Remember, this rate is only guaranteed until they change TnC, which they can do anytime. And they designed (I mean conceptualise) this product before covid was a pandemic. Its a coincidence that the main launch happened during the outbreak.

Not sure they will be able to sustain it if global economy and returns keep low in the coming months/years.

So yeah, just hoping to ride this good product for long enough. Luckily there's no lock in, so that's a good deal while it lasts.

the good thing abt this acct is that u see the interest coming in at start of each month so u can ownself see that 2.5% was honoured the previous mth.

so for any reason they change the rates to a unfavourable one (upfront or non-upfront announced), u can tell from the interest they give at start mth so u can plan ahead for the next mth whr to dabao ur 10k to. fuss-free 10k for now in this current climate.

Example I’d u apply in 30 th may and neee the company to verrity your account first right
Before it approve and I’d u can’t fast in the funds won’t the interest starte later ?
