PE is 27.6. PB is 3.65. Profit margin decline to less than 16%.

I like to think that this is a defensive stock and collect div. But not at this price. Cash rich but does not generate return.

Unless there are big plans behind these numbers.

Vested.

Alibaba invested more money at $1.74 a share, approx 24x PE. That should act as a major support for the share price. Shareholders are probably all waiting to see how the management use its cash pile. I think the CEO mentioned in the previous AGM that they'll drive growth through M&A, so got to wait and see...
I think $1.8x is a good accumulation point, with a dividend yield of 3.5%

Hmm... not sure if they'd even consider selling the building. They're collecting good rental income from it.

Any investors actually used SingPost services before? My friends who used it complained that their customer service is bad. E.g. call the customer service hotline but cannot get the issue resolved, POPstation mail misplaced, and the delivery man disappearing in 60 seconds after knocking the door. :s22:
They should spend more money upgrading their 'software' after spending so much building the hardware infrastructure.

Heard of such stories. Not a frequent user of them cos I only buy online occasionally/never mail things. But when I do use them, so far so good for me.

cos they have shortage of manpower. you can do a lot of stuff at the post office nowadays that the queue is so long most of the time. but actually a lot of them are old auntie and uncles who don't want to use the automated machines to pay their bills

Singapore Post up 1.1% to $1.925 on record 1Q results

http://www.theedgemarkets.com/sg/article/singapore-post-11-1925-record-1q-results

SINGAPORE (July 29): Singapore Post is up 1.1% to $1.925 as at 11:11 a.m. after announcing record first quarter earnings and revenue this morning.

For the 1Q ended June, the postal service provider booked earnings of $46.6 million from a year ago.

Revenue rose 20.7% to hit $254.6 million.

The result was boosted by one-off gains from divestments and strong growth in its e-commerce and logistics business.

Mail revenue increased 1.6% to $125.1 million, with the increase in postal rates starting last October helping to offset the decline in mail volumes.

SingPost says it expects to record an estimated gain of more than $30 million from the divestment of Novation Solutions and Datapost (HK), as well as DataPost.

Revenue from logistics, which also includes SingPost’s eCommerce logistics business operations, rose 43.6% to $140.1 million.

Revenue from its retail and e-commerce business rose 5.6%, as vPost service and the front-end Web solutions business helped to offset the decline in revenue from financial services and retail agencies.

SingPost has declared an interim quarterly dividend of 1.5 cents per share.
