Missing Package!

Items arrived in Singapore on 5th Oct 2012 and till today 19 Oct 2012 then they claimed item is missing! Its a registered mail and this is ridiculous! After clarified when I asked them that I want to have a full refund, they told me that I have to laise with my sender and my sender has to lodge a lodge of missing item in Singapore! Its our fault here in Singapore and they are like putting the blame in Malaysia! So should we trust our Singpost although its Registered mail????? All Im sure is that I want to have my full refund! Singpost you better answer this!

Non-ethical behaviour of vPOST

I must say vPOST service is totally rubbish.

I bought 2 items from Amazon and their dimensions are
1) 16.2 x 14.2 x 15.2 inches ; 10 pounds
2) 8.2 x 12 x 13.6 inches ; 5 pounds

however Amazon packed it into 1 single big box and the volume and weight difference is 20 kg which will cost me more than $150 extra in delivery fees.

I requested that vPOST discard the big box and just ship in the smaller boxes. But they refused and state

"Please be advised that the decision to repack a package will be made at the discretion of vPOST (as per our Terms and Conditions), if the parcel cannot fit in our standard sized boxes, we will retain the box wherein the parcel was originally packed. We do not repack items in customized boxes."

After sending them numerous email and calls where the respond is very slow. They send me this.

"Please be advised that there are also packages which are specially packed to ensure breakable items are cushioned. As such packages would potentially be bulky, the difference between the actual weight and volumetric weight may be higher. We will take into account such instances and repack only when the safety of the package will not be compromised.

We have liaised your concern to the relevant department and they have confirmed that we cannot split the shipments as per process of vPOST we do not split packages into two.

Kindly also be reminded of the 21 days holding period for you not to assess with any holding fees since your 3 package is already waiting for payment. We can temporary cancel this shipment into your account for you to be able to pay with your other 2 packages but we are not liable for the charges incurred and we cannot
waive the base charge if you will decide to ship this item to Singapore. Also this package already reached the beyond the 21 day holding period."

Please see the image, the 2 smaller boxes are being supplied and in no way will it affect shipments. On top of that, I have told vPOST that I will bear the responsibility should the good be damaged during shipment and yet they just give standard answers and insist to charge me the higher charge.

When I requested them to send the items back with me paying the postage fee. They even have the audacity to request administration charges of $10 and the holding fees of 21 days.

This is totally rubbish.

Vpost bad experience

Bought 23 items from Taobao. one particular item was delivered to Vpost Shenzhen on 25/10. did not see it in my vpost account and no one contacted me from vpost until i called them on 30/10. CSO confirms item is in Vpost shenzhen and will need me to confirm it is meant for me thus require me to send them proof of ownership. so i emailed my screenshot of taobao.

did not hear from them for next 2 days. called them again on Nov 01. says will take another 3-4 days to sort it out!

In the mean time, the other 22 items are sitting in their warehouse sucking thumb.

What's Singpost's pledge of service? RELIABLE, ON-TIME, VALUE FOR MONEY.

I'd say they should include another one to the list - we make you laugh (with our pledge of service)!

VPost's call centre shift to Pinoyland is the SINGLE reason why I'm never want anything to do with Singpost or VPOST ever again. Last time the call centre was run by aunties like Esther and Maggie, all knowledgable and ACE STAFF. They were your partners in sorting out the internal logistical whirlpool.

Now bloody pinoys just hoodwink you. Call not returned after 3 days, dare to mute the phone (just that they didn't press properly) and chat with their co-workers while you are doing the explanation, passing the call to their friends pretending to be their managers, gives you conflicting info and expectations, even the real managers don't give a damn and have process knowledge gaps, HANGUPS (yes, hangups!!!) And LIES AND MORE LIES (this is unacceptable)... SingPost wants to increase its stock price at the cost to their loyal customers. Sorry, i'm taking my business to their competitors.

Always get their names and time you first spoke to them, write it down.

Hi,

I think it is unfair to blame the call center people, they are not the ones doing to deliveries, nor are they the ones who konked up the whole thing here. The problem is that Singpost has OUTSOURCED delivery to many third party companies, this is the real reason behind the bad service.

Those call center people can't do anything about it. I had my parcel also left at the Paya Lebar office for weeks, not moving at all, in fact one so called pinoy officer went all his way down to the delivery dept. to find my parcel, and he finally found it the next day, called me back and arranged a redelivery to an address I gave him, as I was going overseas.

So, in my case it was fine, and it was the second parcel that was left at the Paya Lebar office, first was an EMS courier!! I picked it up myself, and today another Airmail registered parcel from Holland, tracking site said 'Failed delivery, and reason'Heavy item, insufficient time'....it's a 1 KG box!

I immediately send a message through the site. The first time they told me they have stopped working with that third party company, a Ms Kaur told me, so very likely a Singaporean.

i used post usa some time back and was very dissatisfied with the service.
first, it was unable to match some invoice, then delivery cannot choose timing, then package dont know go where. Have stopped using them many years ago.

Have since changed to borderlessbuys and com gateway and they used DHL, which is top notch. Items get matched automatically, no need to match what invoice, and it gets delivered within 3 - 4 days once it reaches my USA address. (upon payment of shipping charges).

DHL is also good because you can monitor the shipment and once it reaches SG, you can arrange for delivery even on Sundays, within a 4 hour time slot.

Rather consistent service, have done at least 20 deliveries and 95% of time, they are good.

VPOST bad service, cannot locate my item!

According to UPS, my item arrived VPOST USA on December 5th, 2012. To date, I haven't received my item. When I called VPOST customer service in Singapore on December 8th, they told me that my item should be recorded in the system on December 10th because of holidays seasons it would take 3 working days to proceed. However, I didn't hear from them so I called again on December 11th and they told me a different story. They asked me to send invoice and UPS delivery proof to them via email which they sent after phone conversation. I did send them the email with PDF file (according to their request) proving that my item arrived. I sent email to follow up on Dec 12th, they replied back that they received the email but there was no attachment. So I forwarded the email right away, and called. Again, they insisted they didn't get the attachment. The 3rd to 10th email sending to them were included other external email addresses which all of them confirmed receiving the attachments. But every time I called VPOST, they said that they couldn't see the attachment therefore they couldn't act anything or to track my package!!! Is this ridiculous? Today, December 15th, I still haven't received any update from VPOST.:s11:
I am not first-time user but this idiot VPOST is wasting my time, my phone call, and money. All VPOST users, please be reminded of this useless, ridiculous unprofessional service that you may encounter in the future. This is my last time using VPOST service. VP597421 Case ID 588076 & 582833

Sorry to bump this thread. But I saw my registered item status on the site as ready for collection at post office. Does this means I have to go down and collect? I did not receive any delivery advice slip either.

Think they're doing this for all or something... I got the 5 working days to collect too... For registered type mail...

For bulky mails always was collection (without redelivery) this year but at least gave 10 days... now 5 days only sounds so...; what if the person is overseas?

If they want to discontinue redelivery they should at least keep the 10 working days to collect.

If only there's voting to switch this Smart coy. :s8:

Now they doing what pilot run in the area I am staying. No more re-delivery for registered bulky parcel anymore!

No calls, nothing, out of blue, post man just pop out to make delivery.

If first attempt, not successful and nobody open door, a slip just left for you to collect from Monday - Friday and must be within 5 working days to collect.

Heavy and bulky parcels still expect people to personally drop by nearest post office to collect or appoint somebody. If working then how:s11: :(

I was about to order a watch from the US when I came across this thread when I googled for vPost to log in and retrieve my USA address details. The US company I was going to order from do not despatch outside the US so I was going to pay for the watch with free delivery to the vPost address.
With so many negative posts and complaints from HWZ members, I'm certainly not going to use vPost unless there's assurance from Singpost that they will revamp and improve on their services!
My other option would be to order from Amazon even though the selling price there is higher by US$20+. At least by paying a little more, I can hope to avoid such problems...
I completely sympathise with those who had suffered bad experiences with the "new Singpost" as I had also experienced very irresponsible acts carried out by their couriers! :( It sure looks like Singapore Post Office is headed for the dumps if the senior management do not wake up and act fast!!!

Hi I have a very bad experience with singpost. I have a parcel from korea but I not at home. So it's redelivered back to singpost Jurong point office. I ask for redelivery to another post office which is very near my house. It stated that I can collect in two working days. 2 working days later I go collect, post office Auntie say it's still not delivered . Ask me to wait, den I 2 working days later go collect, Auntie say it's still not delivered... she help me send a fax to Jurong point to request for redelivery. 2 working days later it say processing... den I one day later go online check its now redelivered back to Korea... any advise on how to get my parcel to redelivered back? I make two requests for redelivery and they still can return my parcel back to Korea. Really ccb service

I recommend using Comgateway when dealing with US-only/overseas parcels.
They contract out the delivery to DHL which is world renowned and provide proper delivery service unlike Singpost.

They contract out the delivery to DHL which is world renowned and provide proper delivery service unlike Singpost.

I registered with comGateway to begin my trial of their service on 1st Feb. Almost immediately I got my US address with my personal reference. I proceeded to Amazon and ordered the 6-watch travel case with delivery to comGateway. Amazon's estimated delivery was "Feb 7-12".
ComGateway informed me of my shipment arrival on 7th Feb and I gave instructions for "Standard" shipping and paid as below:

Int'l Shipping Charges: 22.40
Fuel Surcharge: 2.24
Mandatory Insurance:
(Declared Value & Shipping at 0.65%.) 0.50

TOTAL US$ 25.14

ComGateway gave the estimated shipping time:
Expected Delivery Date (Portland time) (Y-M-D): 2013-02-19.

About an hour ago at 1:40 pm, I received my package from the DHL courier and it's only Feb 14th in Portland!
If only Singpost, who used to be one of my favourite agencies were able to replicate 50% of comGateway and DHL's performance.

I'm very happy with the step-by-step tracking (with option to be informed by SMS or email) and the comGateway/DHL efficiency :s12: and I'll continue using them for my US purchases unless I hear that Singpost, vPost or whatever they're using have improved drastically!!! :s8:

Unbearable shipping experience with vpost

I am a regular online buyer for the past 5 years and has been actively purchasing and shipping items from Amazon US and eBay US. I have been a loyal vpost customer using their forwarding service to have my items shipped from their US address to Singapore for the past years. There are some hiccups here and there from time to time and I tried to bear with them until this recent transaction which is deemed intolerable.

I purchased a used old toy from a eBay seller at S$70 and the item was shipped to my vpost US address. I was shocked to find out that vpost quoted me a total of S$184.84 to ship the item to Singapore! It has an actual weight of 3.6kg and but a volumetric weight of 18.4kg, as the eBay merchant has shipped it with an oversized box. I tried to request for repacking service and they take a few days to get back to me to inform me that they could not repack as they "do not have customised boxes to repack packages" in their own exact words. I then tried to ask them the cost of shipping the item back to the seller at the state of Colorado. They quoted me S$71.95 when my eBay merchant only charged me at S$32! I also ask vpost to quote me if I were to forward the item to my comgateway US address which is also in Oregon as vpost US address. They quoted me S$57.82 when interstate shipment from Colorado to Oregon is only S$32! I felt I'm at the mercy of vpost, whatever they quoted me I would have to comply to. I tried my last request to see if vpost can give me a small discount on the item so I will be able to cut down the shipping cost by a little bit and save the hassle of shipping the item back and forth. They simply replied "this request was not granted". I was so frustrated and being forced to pay the full shipment charge which cost almost 3 times the value of the item. It will definitely be the last time that I'm engaging vpost on shipping my items for the following reasons:

1. unwillingness to try their best to repack item as they "do not have customised boxes to repack packages"
2. unreasonable shipping charge upon request to have the item send back to sender. My sender only paid S$32 to ship from Colorado State to vpost at Oregon State and vpost is quoting me S$71.95 to have the item sent back to the sender which is more than 2 times what my sender paid!
3. unreasonable shipping charge upon request to have the item forwarded to another US address which is located within the same state of Oregon. As mentioned, sender only paid S$32 to have the item send from Colorado State to Oregon State, and vpost is quoting me S$57.82 to have the item forwarded to another address within the same state which is almost 2 times of what my sender paid for interstate shipment!
4. unwillingness to offer any discount to empathize with customer and help customer who is a victim of oversized merchant packaging.
5. unwillingness to do offer anything to try to retain loyal customer like me regardless of my loyalty to have engaged their postal service regularly for the past 5 years!
6. slow and ineffective response time that cost customer precious time. It has taken me more than a week and the case is still not settled, let alone receiving the item.

I would try out vpost competitors like Comgateway or Borderlinx for my future purchases. I have compared the rates between vpost and Comgateway and find Comgateway is better in terms of:
1. generally lower shipping rate per 0.5kg
2. cheaper unpacking service: US$5-7 Comgateway vs S$12 vpost (if they decide to repack for you). They even help customers to repack items from boxes to bags if possible, to as to help customers save shipping cost.
3. real-time tracking which vpost does not offer
4. cheaper returns admin fee: US$5 Comgateway vs S$10 vpost, and cheaper returns shipping rate. Basically Comgateway's international returns shipping rate costs cheaper than vpost's domestic returns shipping rate!

Hope the sharing of my experience will help consumers to have a greater online shopping experience from US merchants.

Try ShippingBaron.com

I have had quite a bit of issues with vPost, being a heavy online shopper, and I thought I'd share this with you: ShippingBaron.com They're Singapore-based and launching in April. Clearly cheaper and probably a lot better service than we get from vPost. They're apparently taking pre-registrations before launch..

Cheers,

James Tan
