was wondering anyone has experience this same issue with USPS priority mail international:
Your item departed a transfer airport in Changi, Singapore, SINGAPORE on February 8, 2015 at 11:12 pm. The item is currently in transit to the destination.

Its funny when destination was supposed to be in Singapore, but no updates from both singpost/speedpost even the operator told me they are clueless.

Would like to voice our my disappointment with Speedpost service and this is the worst experience i have encounter with all the delivery services in Singapore.

On Monday Feb 16th i am expecting a parcel which contained a branded bag from Japan and it was miraculously "SIGNED AND DELIVERED" to me reflected in their system. The address is attention to my work place address(verify with shipper it is correct address), and i am assured that no delivery person came to my office as i was in the office almost whole day(except lunch hr where my other colleagues were around).

I requested a POD (Proof of delivery) from the Indian call centre customer service staff (most of the 50% i don’t get what he is talking about in a very strong india accent, and i believe they are stationed in india). The signature reflected on their Proof of delivery is mainly just a ridicules scriber signature of a M and recipient is recep.

1. What puzzled me is, my office have no recep. Who is the ghost recep who signed my parcel?
2. Nobody have signed on behalf of me in the office, how can it be signed?
3. No delivery person turn up in my office at all.
4. Item as classified as "delivered' to a who? a ghost?
5. Speedpost do not verify who is the recipient and just pass it to anyone not related to my company to acknowledge???
6. Why respond time need to be 1-2days to investigate when the item is freshly sent by the dedicated delivery person (i’m sure they have record who is assigned for my parcel). Wouldn’t 2days passed, the delivery person will lost impression where he have sent the to/for?

Till this moment, no news on where the hell is my parcel…...
Can anyone please share with me their experience on parcel missing and lost? How do i claim insurance or compensations?

Thanks!

The same thing just happened to me! My package was "With delivery courier" this morning at 9am. I received a text saying to expect the package before 6pm and if I miss it there'll be a delivery note blah blah.

So I waited...and waited...and waited. 6pm passed and I thought the postman must have missed my house and sent it back to the delivery centre or something.

I checked my tracking status later on and it shows as "Delivered"!

Called Speedpost up for an explanation. They said it shows as delivered on their side and they will email me the proof of delivery slip for verification, after which they will "investigate".

I really hope this isn't the end of my parcel's journey!

Bought a bagpack from Amazon at S$70, which is around half price of what Singapore is selling for. Vpost want to charge me $140 for the shipping. I am glad that the merchant provide free-return so I managed to return it from Vpost warehouse and got my money back.

*I found the bagpack in SG Harvey Norman & got it for $90. still it's better than paying $210 for it.

No more Vpost for me anymore.

Dishonest vPost

I recently ordered similar items from Amazon under the same order but unfortunately they sent it in 3 separate over-size packaging to vPost US in Oregon. The item measured 48-inch x 4-inch x 0.5-inch and weighs a mere 0.5kg only. After writing to Amazon, they graciously offered to refund me for any excess shipping costs to Singapore. I was made to understand the items were sent from different fulfillment centers in the US and FREE shipping was involved.

When the items arrived at vPost USA. The first package had been automatically repacked leaving the other two untouched in its original packaging. The first package had a chargeable volumetric weight of 1.1kg after repack (which I have no problem with it). However I called the COS to request they do the same repack on the other two packages, as the chargeable volumetric weight was 4.6 kg each. I further explained that the contents in both these packages are similar items I had bought. vPost replied two days later with a short note informing me that the charges would be higher if I opted for repacking. No further details were given as to how much more I had to pay.

I called the COS again asking them to let me know how costs as they did not mentioned earlier and specifically instructed them not to proceed until I confirm to go ahead after knowing the additional costs involved. They will send the request to vPost USA for the new measurements so to calculate the final charges within two days time. I was totally shock when I received an email informing me that the two packages had been repacked and the final chargeable volumetric weight was 4.8kg each. These were even higher than the original packaging which had a volumetric weight of 4.6kg each.

Sensing something was amiss, I spoke to the Duty Manager telling him how could this be. I was expecting the chargeable volumetric weight to be reduced but instead increased! I don't mind paying for repacking fees but it was absurd that the volumetric weight has increased. As usual, vPost lied again and again that it had been repacked but offered no satisfactory explanation to the increase after repacking.

The last straw came when the packages were delivered to me in Singapore. I was totally shock to discover that the other two packages were untouched let alone repacked. I felt cheated and demanded an explanation after showing vPost the photos of the physical packages received. I can see only one being repacked and the other two in its original packaging. I know this because I had earlier ordered same item (just one item only) and it was sent in the same packaging.

Finally, I had paid about $114/- for their dishonesty, that's all I can say.

I was fuming mad now that I had paid for repacking but nothing had been done to the two packages. I demanded they come back with a satisfactory explanation by friday before I escalate the matter further.

I've learnt a lesson - NEVER, EVER use vPost services. There's no integrity or decency in them. I hope someone wakes up and see what these imported employees are doing and damaging Singapore's image as a Hub. These people bring along their bad habits and inefficiencies from their own country to ruin ours!

Get rid of them before its too late!

vpost HORRIBLE Delivery Services!

Just posted this in their feedback portal...paid for the delivery but have to pick up from Singpost Centre myself!!!!

"I want you to know that I am very very frustrated with your delivery services.
This is the second time that we were waiting at home but the "Delivery attempted, unsuccessful "!!!
Tracking number: VS151112xxxUS, VS151150xxxUS

I never have such issue with DHL or other delivery agents.

This is so so so disappointing!!!!!!!

Can I have a full refund for this????? I promise will never use vpost ever again!

Will someone call me??
I doubt...the last time I wrote in, no one called until and I have to call the service desk 3 times before I got a response....!!!!!!!"

I wish I had read this thread before I decided to try vpost.

Ordered a toy from Japan Amazon, and since seller does not ship outside Japan I decided to try out vpost. The toy I wanted was much cheaper than another Japanese hobby website that I usually buy stuff from, and they do direct shipment to Singapore.

For my toy,the hobby site wanted to charge me 3000 yen for EMS direct shipment to Singapore, which is higher than the usual 2000yen or so I usually pay for buying similar items.

Went to Amazon and saw they had the same item but much cheaper, almost by 3000yen. So i tot hey, if I use Amazon and vpost the final price should still be cheaper, even if the shipment from vpost is more than 3000yen.

I couldn't be more wrong.

When my package arrived, vpost wanted to charge me 6100 yen (about 71sgd) to ship my item! More than double the ems rate I would have paid from my usual hobby website. This effectively wiped out all the savings in could have gotten from ordering from Amazon, and in fact was a bit more expensive compared to he hobby website,if I had ordered from them directly instead.

I contacted the cusomter service and told them that my toy weighed 1.5 kg,but volumetric weight came to be 3.8kg.according to vpost own rules on repacking items, any item where the volumetric weight vs actual weight is more than 2kg, they will force a repack and is non optional.repacking will cost an additional 12 dollars, but I am OK as long as the cost is still lower.

The customer service guy replied saying repacking stuff is at their sole discretion, I.e. customer has no say otherwise. Followed by saying that their staff at vpost Japan has confirmed that the measurements are correct and there is no space therefore they cannot repack. What complete nonsense!!! Just measuring the outside dimensions of the box can know inside got no free space to repack it smaller?

I point out to them the discrepancy between their quote and the normal rate I would have gotten had I bypassed vpost and ordered the item to deliver to my address directly, but they just ignore it completely. Basically as a customer of vpost, you are at their mercy.

Opportunistic scalping, not much different from blackmail/ransom.

Luckily I ordered from Amazon, returning stuff for a refund should be easy. Told the customer service guy to send the package back to the seller, and don't even think of billing me for anything.

Waiting for their reply now.

How is vpost still surviving? Can we organise and open a combined CASE complaint against vpost?

I gave up on vpost don't know how many donkey years. I remember when I bought a a small package and pack it in a large box and they wanted to charge me volumetric weight. I paid for it and that is my last business dealing with them. I switched to borderlinx after that.

I thought borderlinx shipping state have sales tax ? I am now using Gshipexpress. They do free repacking and no sales tax.

Bad experience with vPOST.

Recently, I decided to buy some stuffs from Amazon, because even with shipping charges the items are still cheaper than in singapore.
I did some calculation on the shipping cost by myself, based on the shipping weight described on Amazon with the shipping rates on vpost, and vpost has bundling options which will waive the base charge. And example shown on vpost, the cost for shipping a jean is less than 20 SGD. So I decided to try vpost n start shopping on Amazon.
I bought a few pairs of shoes n sweatshirts for myself and my daughter n a big stroller for my daughter (should be less than 80 SGD to ship back to singapore by sea freight based on my calculation).
And then the vpost magic comes... as the items are reaching to vpost US location, I was shocked. A jacket for my daughter, the actual weight is 0.5kg (later was told by customer service only 0.2kg), vpost charge me at 1.1kg, and when I called and asked why, the customer service switched to robot mode..talking about volumetric weight n my package dimension blah blah... and one sentence she kept repeating is that's in our terms n conditions....and there no other option for me since the items are already in their location, I have to ship or just leave there n after 21 days they will start charging me for storage....
ok I am too stupid to believe in those amazing examples on how I can save cost to ship with vpost.... but not smart enough to calcukate the volumn of my package, BTW,from where I can know the shipping dimension? Even I try to find out from Amazon, how in the hell do I know to compute the volumetric weight??? since when the it becomes so complicated?
And then some more magics come.. a pair of running shoes whose actual weight is only 1kg was charged at 2kg. Another pair of shoes also weighted at 1kg, was charged 1.5kg and it claimed that vpost did repack for me and helo me to save 3.4kg, so I have to thank vpost for the great saving of the cost which I even do not know where it come from...
Now I start concerning my daughter's stroller, just hoping it will not be too magical. The total shipping cost I can foresee now should be at least doubled.. and I have no way to cancel them as Amazon already shipped.
Just for the other people reference, make a calculation before you use vpost... if you do not know how to calculate the volunmetric weight, so far I haven't figured it out, then maybe try to ask before buying. Once you shipped to their location, you do not have many options already.
And another example, I also bought a 40L travel backpack n a swiss army multi tools, it only cost me 10 USD, to ship back to Singapore (because these 2 are eligible for global shipping), that's why I thought vpost should not be too ex, which proved I was wrong...

I don't like vpost as much as the next person, but not cos of their charges... just that their CSOs can never deliver the kind of service i am enjoying with other freight forwarders... Takes years off my life dealing with Singpost CSOs!!

However, in your case, the chances of vpost not really be in the wrong. Amazon is FAMOUS for shipping items in OVERSIZED boxes!

. A jacket for my daughter, the actual weight is 0.5kg (later was told by customer service only 0.2kg), vpost charge me at 1.1kg, and when I called and asked why, the customer service switched to robot mode..talking about volumetric weight n my package dimension blah blah...

Let's put it this way, 0.2kg could be the weight of the package, volumetric weight wise, chances are it is indeed around 0.8 to 1.5kg, especially when your item is clothing... http://www.online-calculators.co.uk/volumetric/weight.php

To be very honest, for shoes... actual weight to volumetric weight about 2x to 2.5x is already considered very good! Anyone who frequently order shoes to be shipped via any freight forwarder will attest to that:)

And another example, I also bought a 40L travel backpack n a swiss army multi tools, it only cost me 10 USD, to ship back to Singapore (because these 2 are eligible for global shipping), that's why I thought vpost should not be too ex, which proved I was wrong...

If you had shipped the 40L travel backpack n via amazon, consider it as lesson learnt... If you ask around this forum, many avid amazon buyers will always advise others that when amazon does ship it directly, even without FSSG, just go with Amazon shipping!

Hi, does anyone knows how to complain to the management of Singpost?

Been really fed up with them for the past couple of months, I have sent my parcels via registered mail which by right was suppose to be delivered to my customers hands, in the end, the delivery guy forge the signature and put the item into the mailbox. Then what for I pay the premium for it being registered.

Then now fed up already I send another parcel via normal mail with photo and video proof of it being delivered. After 10days, my customer complain say never receive the items. Called up Singpost to ask about it and they got the cheek to reply say if send by normal mail it is not their fault if it goes missing. Still tell me say should send by registered mail if it is important.

Is there any way to get back the parcel and to complain to management about this? Call the CSO all is indian and die also don't want to transfer to any manager even when specifically request to speak to one.
