Looks like Singtel forcing $42.90 (1Gbps) for all new and renewal customers now. Whether bundle with any items or not still same $42.90...

Anyone getting $39.90 for renewals (not upgrades) lately?

If that is the case and you are paying S$39.9 now, then do not renew and wait for the promotion. Usually you can renew at the same price. You may want to contact SingTel again, go to the counter, and call. Try both.

If you are currently playing for S$39.9, normally SingTel will continue to charge you the same price after contract expires, unless that is a promotion price stated in your service agreement.

As for the free router, it is always like this for recontract and upgrade, you will get new one if your old one does not support the new plan. You will not get a new router if your existing free router support the new plan.

And take note many people are paying S$49.9 or S$44.9, including myself...

I doubt they are going to continue charging 39.90.
In the past i agree without doing anything, they will continue to charge same price, cos in their bill, they charged based on promo price monthly previously.
But since my last renewal 2 years back, they started to indicate in the bill monthly sub is 59.90, then they apply 20 rebate (24 months).
This would only mean if we dont renew, they can choose to either charge 59.90, based on my contracture terms, or the current monthly sub of 49.90, if they are merciful.

I missed the end-sept 3-days promo when they offer 39.90 to all, cos my current contract still not due for renewal, and they die-die dont wanna give it to me even though i’ll be due few days later in oct.

Yup, looks like jumping ship is imminent.

If you decide to jump, you can consider either Whizcomms (using SingTel Network) or M1.

M1 got offer now -- first 3 months S$10 (after that S$39.9) and you get a good router. If you need Mesh, S$10 will get you good Asus/Linksys 3 pack Mesh compared to lousy 2 pack SingTel Mesh.

Thanks for the recommendation.
I have checked M1 out, looks like the $10 x 3 mths is meant for current customers. For new customers like me, it’ll be free first month and free Asus ac2600 router.

Edit, initially thought 3x10 and free first month+router are concurrent, then very shiok...

I see. Still pretty good offer now that there are not much offer on the broadband side from all telcos.

That is bad. Have you tried to call Singtel to see if they can offer better option for you?

Hopefully Singtel representative here in the forum can help you.

Well, they did just announce their earnings are going downhill...
Wonder if that has anything to do with your case...

As for my case, i still have a month to decide whether to jump, or renew, as my current contract will end in Jan 20. :(

Edit : But what i don't understand in your case is, why they don't let you, at least, take up a new contract???
You missed the renewal period, but they should at least let you terminate current non-contract, and sign up for a new contract what...

A few users have done that. I think they are all SingTel Fibre + SingTel TV users. Try to convince SingTel before signing up. Right now SingTel has promotion for people switching to SingTel Fibre + SingTel TV (12 month free SingTel TV out of 24month contract for certain TV packs).

If you do not need SingTel TV, then M1 may be a better choice for you.
Is there any catch...i also notice this deal. Is it too good to be true?

Not really too good to be true, you need 24 month Fibre internet and TV subscription. And the TV package does not include those sports related packs. It is a good deal if you need SingTel TV.

It is similar to existing SingTel TV customer retention offer (12 month contract, 50% off, waiver of basic box rental).

Read the terms and conditions carefully.

======
Switch to Singtel to enjoy FREE 5 months of Fibre & FREE 12 months of TV: To be eligible for this
promotion, customer will need to present the latest 3 months of their competitor bill for verification.

A 24-month contract applies for both Fibre Broadband & Singtel TV Pack. Applicable only when customer signs up for a New Singtel TV Lite/Starter/Trio Pack and Fibre Broadband in the same transaction.

This bundle includes Free 5 months on 1Gbps Fibre Home Broadband (Effective price of $39.50/mth after 5 free months on a 24-months contract) & Free 12 months on Singtel TV Lite/Starter/Trio Pack. Free months will be reflected on the first 5 months of the contract for Fibre and First 12 months of the contract on Singtel TV. Prevailing rate will apply thereafter for the remaining months of the contract for Fibre & Singtel TV.

Family Starter Pack at $29.90/mth is applicable to Fibre Home Bundle customers signing up to a 24-month contract Family Starter Pack on fibre connection. Usual price of $34.90/month will apply at the end of the Family Starter Pack contract or if the Fibre Broadband Home Bundle subscription is terminated

Installation address must correspond with the service address details on his/her existing competitor bill.

Free Wireless Dual-band AC Router: Applicable for new Fibre Broadband customers only, or when
existing wireless router is incompatible.

CSO called me this morning. You still need to pay for the set top box every month on top of the subscription from 13th months onwards

Then the TV side is a bit worse than SingTel TV retention offer (12 month contract, 50% off packs not including sports, S$5 basic box rental waived). But Fibre broadband wise seems to be better than existing SingTel users who need to pay S$49.9 or S$44.9 (but some get S$39.9).

Is Singtel treating their customer as a fool?

Have signed up with Singtel fibre contract 500mbps and paying $46.64 since 2012. They have been calling on and off over the years offering some slightly better deals for recontract but i just find it a hassle to do so because they usually include a mandatory tv box which i do not want. Hence, i am still sticking with the 500mbps plan, paying the same amount even though there are better deals out there.

Today i received a call today asking me to recontract and offered me the $49.90 1gbps plan. Then i asked if there are any cheaper plan and she say no have because i feel 500mbps is more than sufficient for my usage up till now. During which i've done a quick google search on their website and saw that exact same 1gbps plan for $42.90 and asked her about it. She told me it's online exclusive and i ask her why would i want to sign for $49.90 from you when i can sign for $42.90 instead for exactly the same? Then she asked if i would like to recontract for $42.90 instead. I was like if you can offer me $42.90, why not start off with that instead?? She bwg, only to reiterate if i would like to recontract for $42.90.

I was furious and hanged up immediately after that because it almost feels like Singtel is trying to scam ignorant consumers.

Do consider Whizcomms. You save almost $20.64 per month
Why be a carrot head and let them chop you $46.64 every month ?
