Not sure if i missed anything but i tried reverse the password used for the "Admin" login for the "support" login but failed.

Also tried the password as is but also failed for the "support" id.

Device name XS-240X-A
Vendor Nokia
Software Version: 3TN00284JJLI18(1.2401.318)

Appreciate if anyone can advise.

Have you changed the Admin password? Is the Admin password the same as printed on the label?

If not the same, revert back to the password printed on the label. Then try again.

If the Admin password is the same as the one printed on the label, then your case may be a bit more complicated.

I remember one user had the same problem. I think in the end he sorted out the issue by factory reset. But that may render your services temporarily not available, especially Singtel TV and Singtel Digital Voice. The services did come back later.

Proceed at your own risk. Worst case you may have to call SingTel to recover and you may need to pay for the recovery service.

Just got it today and did not change the password.

Else will try the factory reset as im using Whizcomms and only internet service.

Thanks @xiaofan for responding.

Updates:

  1. Just did factory reset as the old ONR still with me to rollback.
  2. Login with "support" + reversed password of "admin".
  3. Backup/export configuration.
  4. Created the new connection profiles as per https://forums.hardwarezone.com.sg/...admin-password.6946718/page-17#post-156085401.
  5. Reboot and Asus Router show Public IP.

Thing i did and notice afterwards.
  1. Default connection profiles all still existed after factory reset.
  2. Disable the TR096 to see if it will have any issue as this should prevent telco to update the ONR.
  3. Notice the Public IP on the ONR is different from what is shown on my Asus Router.
  4. Connection to my Asus Router have internet access with public ip A.
  5. Connection to ONR also have internet access with public ip B.
Not sure if long run will have issue but will monitor :ROFLMAO:.

The following post is correct for the new FW. The "ONT" option has always been there and it never works, no matter for the old FW or the new FW.

Hi @xiaofan , I refer to your post 422 where you said "ONT option has always been there and it never works".

My ST installation is tomorrow, and I've read this entire thread to prepare. In the event I get a ZTE ONR instead of Nokia, I am trying to understand that ZTE web page where 3 options are present: ONR, Hybrid and ONT.

"ONR" mode is where all of us are trying and using. Individual ports on the ONR can be selected to be bridged to VLAN10 (internet) on the fiber. If VLAN10 is bridged to port X on the ONR, other ports will have no access to VLAN10, hence other ONR ports do not have internet access.

Note: The ONR do not give you the option to specify which VLAN (fibre) to bridge; it automatically select VLAN10 for you. This means you can't bridge the other VLANs 20, 30, 40. In this aspect, the Nokia ONR is better, in that you get to specify which VLAN you're trying to create a new WAN profile for.

"ONT" mode, is, given the name, I suspect bridge the entire fiber (VLAN10, 20, 30, 40) to ONR port 5 (10G), effectively making port 5 a trunk port. Have you or anyone tried this? (My understanding, from GPON days, is that on such a trunk port, VLAN20 is untagged, while the rest (10,30,40) are tagged)

"Hybrid" mode, is something I cannot even begin to guess what it means.

Hopefully you get the bridging working fine already, no matter you get ZTE F8648P or Nokia XS-240X-A.

For ZTE F8648P, I have no ideas of the meaning of Hybrid either. But for ONT mode, I suspect it is not supported by Singtel at all. It is for other ISPs, with single 10G port active and not the other ports.

Hi,
Just received the Nokia XS-240X-A from SingTel , but no IPV6 . Call up 1688 and said enable IPv6 at their side.
Did anyone know how to activate the IPV6 for this SingTel Nokia ONR as the Technician also don't know ?

Thanks in advance.

Alvin

Check out the following thread.
https://forums.hardwarezone.com.sg/threads/singtel-5gbps-ipv6.7053976/

It may not be an easy process as most SingTel people have no ideas how to do this. You can refer to that thread and tell them they need to get the right backend network team person to carry out the task.

I went through the IPv6 request process when I signed up the 3Gbps plan in September.
1. Call them at 1688, use the Singtel live chat or WhatsApp them to raise a request for native IPv6 provision to the ONR.

2. They will take about 3 working days to get back to you, their backend will then take a few more days to remote access your ONR to update a configuration with IPv6 settings, the back and forth will take about a week.

3. Once they reply you that the IPv6 settings or dual stack have been provisioned, wait for a maximum of 24 hours before checking you can get IPv6 at your ONR and router. This is important because Singtel IPv6 DHCP servers only respond to 2 requests a day before responding again after the timeout of 24 hours.

Great info.

I have updated Post #1 of the IPv6 Discussions thread to include this information.

Hi Hoision,

What ONR u r having ?
The SingTel Tech come down with ZTE F8648P to replace my Nokia XS-240X-A and still not able to resolve my IPV6 connectivity issue with the Backend guy.
Now asking me to wait for the next instruction....

Most of the Singtel guy do not know how to contact the right backend network team member to provosion IPv6 for SingTel ONR. Probably many backend team members do not know either based on your report.

Nothing can be done by the field technician at your place, the provision needs to be done by the backend network team.

I am using the Nokia ONR. Has Singtel contacted you that the IPv6 activation has been done from the backend? If yes, check on the ONR if you can see an IPv6 gateway, then wait for 24 hours before you restart the ONR to check for IPv6 availability. If you keep restarting and refreshing, their IPv6 DHCP server will not respond to the requests until 24 hours later.

I had the same experience that Singtel asked to come down to change the ONR from Nokia to another Nokia and then ZTE. But I shared with the field engineer that it is not a hardware issue, he tried with both brands with the same results. Before the FE left, I asked to change back to the Nokia ONR due to its smaller footprint although the ZTE hardware spec may be better.

Agree that the whole process of requesting IPv6 will need a bit of patience as Singtel will forward the request to a few teams before going to the right vendor to do the activation, the vendor will not work on weekend so you can't expect any progress during weekend.

I will suggest whoever requesting IPv6 to use their WhatsApp channel and ask to forward the request to the Singtel Home Support team/department, a case ID will then be assigned for any follow up so that you do not need to explain everything to the L1 CSO again. I found it amusing that the L1 CSO asked me to share the reason of activating IPv6 when I first did the request.

You may have to post screenshots to see how you carry out each steps. Nobody can help you with the above sentence.
