You can consider upgrade to Asus RT-BE88U and keep GT-AX6000 as an AImesh node.

Local version is on the expensive side but China version (from Taobao) is quite okay at RMB 2049. If you sell the TP-Link EB810v at about S$300, the top-up is not much.

You can also consider getting a mini PC with dual SFP+ ports and then use the TP-Link as an AP.
I was looking at the ASUS RT-BE88U, everything seems all right, but it does not have the 6Ghz band . I am looking at the GT-BE98, but the price is just ridiculous.

As for the TP-Link, i'ma dump it the moment i get a new router :devilish:

I bite the bullet and bought the ASUS GT-BE98 during 12.12. It's still pricey but beats paying the retail price.

IPv6 native works out of the box.

My conclusion: IPv6 native could be enabled for SingTel subscribers now. But I am not sure if this is area-dependent. Before, you had to use Tunnel 6rd, or like Xiaofan, log a case with their technical support and have them enable it for you.

I am not a new subscriber, but i upgraded from my existing 1 Gbps plan to the 5 Gbps plan.
I had to:
- change from port 1 to port 2 on my Fiber Termination Point
- change from ONT to ZTE F8648P XGSPON ONR
My guess is: either new subscribers have IPv6 native enabled, or they enabled it for me when they re-provisioned my line for the upgrade.

This is crazy, and it's confirm not double NAT? I don't have time to configure tonight, maybe next week. Now Im thinking twice about getting another telco for my place if this is the case haha, they said the ipv6 is slowly rolling out.

oh ya, where do i plug my mio tv then??

I have updated my reply. No Double NAT for the router behind bridged ONR LAN port.
Singtel TV box --> unbridged ONR LAN port

Last time I was always with Singtel mainly because of stability, but also partially because of the ONT trick --> you can use VLAN capable switch to split the connection into two and get two public IPv4 addresses from Singtel, essentially dual 1Gbps plan but the combined bandwidth is still 1Gbps.
https://forums.hardwarezone.com.sg/threads/working-singtel-vlan-settings-with-tplink-sg108e.5746952/

For Singtel 2Gbps users --> they can also have two public IPv4 addresses from Singtel, after bridging of the SingTel GPON ONR, the bridged port will have no Double NAT, the unbridged ports will still work for interne access and Singtel TV (if Singtel has not changed their backend), essentially become the Singtel 1+1 Gamer bundle plan, without the bundled RT-AX86U router and the WTFast gaming VPN.

There are quite some WC 2.5Gbps plan users who also do the same thing, bridging one port of the GPON ONR. One user even bridges two ONR LAN ports and use Dual WAN Load Balancing to work around the 1Gbps LAN port limitation of the GPON ONR.
Can i just check, currently my mio box is connected to a switch in my living room.

if i turn on bridge mode on lan5, can i plug in a router to lan5, and connect the switch to the router, then the mio box to the switch?

or do i have to plug the switch to another port in the ONR?

Also if i turn on lan5 into bridge mode, do the other ports still work as an ONR?

You have to connect Singtel TV to the other port of the ONR. Bridged ONR LAN port cannot support Singtel TV.

For ZTE F8648P ONR, only the bridged LAN port 5 (10G Lan port) will work, the other unbridged 1G LAN ports will not be functional for Internet (not so sure why it is like this but this happened in August 2024 after ONR FW update), only for Singtel TV.

Not so sure about Nokia XS-240X-A ONR, the unbridged 1G LAN ports might work for Internet access as per previous reports. Singtel TV box still must be connected to the unbridged ports.

I realise that if my ipv4 address is from 42.xxx range 6rd won't work. 6rd only works on 115.xx or 116.xxx range

Wonder why

i've used Singtel native IPv6 for a while now and i've found that its routing / performance are unfortunately as poor as its IPv4. for some reason, many local sites have a latency of 30-40ms, even if the packets don't get routed via HK. and they often leave Singtel's network and get routed via Telstra global / PCCW.
