My contract for fibre + mio tv + home bundle is ending.

By looking at the new plan which separate fibre and mio tv into 2 diff part, it's like kinda not worth to take up the plan.

But I need something like miotv in my room so that i can watch chn8, 5 and U.

Is there any other choice other than taking the miotv plan? kinda not worth paying so much extra jus to watch chn8, 5 and U.
Waste of $ to pay mio tv for watching free to air progarm. Mio Tv set top box used to be free rental but now must pay $. Simple la. Just plug in your Tv into the starhub Tv cable point will be able to watch those free to air Tv programs.
See link:

You can also sign up starhub fibre broadband to get free SH Tv.

if you keep the bundle untouched after the contractual period, your subscription remains the same, and you enjoy your current privileges... the only thing is that your set top box rental fee will jump up to the non-promotional rate, which i forgot how much already...

if the miotv is important, then leave it alone after the contract lor...

if part of bundle, they still can increase stb price?
then they might as well increase the plan price too.
just my thoughts

The set top box rental fee will rise after contractual period while subscription fee remains unchanged.. I heard some other ISPs charge non promotional pricing to out of contract customers leh..

Singtel plans pricing will not change even after contract ends. Even for miotv stb rental, if last time you got it for $1.90 or $0.80 it will still remain at what pricing you paid until you recontract.

My Singtel tv package is still on 60% discount up till today without recontract, only bad thing is, the new channels all I cannot watch.

if you do not recontract, it will not change.
but.. old plans are missing channels that was not introduced last time into the content pack

http://www.singteltv.com.sg/price-plan_charges.asp

setup box rental is $4.90/mth .

lol my set top box rental is $1.90 with GST...

Different time of sign up with have different rental charges. The website above shows what the rental fee is like for those who signed up today and those who signed up before the rental fee was adjusted.

I can't say that everyone will have their rental fee increased after contract, but i can only say mine will definitely increase. I can't remember how much will it be, to my recollection, it is $6.90 for me..

Correct to say no change in price but have to watch back old channel. However this is not the case for SH Tv as they did mentioned normal price in their bill and % of discount and how many more mths you can continue with the discount. If 0 mths of discount then it will be prevail rate.

The terms and conditions got mention something like "$3 off STB rental for XX months"..., so technically it should revert back to $4.90 at the end. But seems like some enjoy extended discount lol.

I like the new channels now. More worth it to subscribe. WakuWakuJapan is awesome!

This thread is informative. Can I get some advice from you guys here ?

I am on Fibre Entertainment (mio tv, fibre and digital call) Bundle 200 Mbs, I am paying about $67.11 before GST and my main mobile line is eligible for annual handset upgrade. My FEB contract expire in Jun 15 already but I am still paying the prevailing amount of $67.11 monthly (no increase so far). I got several mobile lines for my family all under my name but all is under company corporate plan (CIS). I was told that from this year on I cannot re-contract under CIS plan if I want to get the free $350 annual handset waiver. I do not watch the mio tv at all but keep it due to the annual waiver. The cheapest 300Mb fibre and starter pack for FEB+ is like $84.90 per month exclude STB rental ?

1. Can I re-contract my mobile line to get the annual 350 waiver now (just hit 12 months on main line) and immediately after that I change to pure fibre plan without mio TV without penalty?

2. Can I sign another 2 years contract based on my current plan and ask for free subscription months or I am forced to take on the new split fibre and mio tv options ?

3. Is it really true if my main mobile cannot be under CIS if I want to enjoy the $350 free annual handset upgrade ?

Thanks for advice :)

1) yes you can..

2) no you can't. Your current plan will be obsolete and you need to sign up the current plans being offered.

3) regarding cis, I am not sure about this but you can always call in to ask..
