That whatsapp pass thing is for people with no mobile data plan la. So that they still can whatsapp without paying the ridiculous /kb charges.

Singtel is the one who first take the lead to cut the mobile plan 12gb to 2gb this is a 6 fold increase in pricing per gb without any valueadded.

They also give the least talk time vs m1 39 bucks plan.

Now for corporate line they ask for 30 buck surcharge and no freebies whereas previously theres no such thing.

They were the slowest to drop their exorbitant broadband rates.

For the iphone 5 plan, they were charging he most expensive prices for the cheaper plans.

In return consumer get no value added but just a constant increased in fees for the same service.

People can only speculate why some of the increase in revenue is indirectly used for frivolous acquisition of expensive apps that has failed. eg. singtel skoob etc.... other few hundred million acquisition looks exorbitant priced like amobee and pixable. Their actual returns are questionable.

IF singtel managed to successfully charge free service like whatsapp, it will invariably be pass on the consumer again, instead of working to cut cost and lower prices by improving operation efficiency and cutting cost with better technology.

People hate it when corporation focus on using oligopoly position to imposed ever higher cost on consumer without any value added. This is regressive. Technology cost usually drop with time with improved performance and service .This is call real progress. To go against that is called incompetent and plain corporate greed.

Im sick of singtel, going to jump ship to competitors.:s22:

Even though m1 got some service downtime, but I would said m1 still offers better deal compared to Singtel. Even my home fibre plan was with m1.

As a singtel user who converted from starhub, I have been very pleased with their signal strength and 4G network speed and stability across SG. Starhub has been a disaster.

I hope this charging proposal does not get passed if it affects consumers. I don't want to switch back to Suckhub or the unreliable M1.

I'm not please with Singtel 4G but if u say that, it means Starhub is even worse.

Only certain locations the 4G is fast, else at home the signal is like 1 to 2 bars only. I always just switch to 2G and connect to home wifi.

Actually in my house area, the 3G is kinda sucky over the last 5 years i've been living here so yeah.

Singtel being singtel

Even when they come out with a video on 4G installation they keep saying it is difficult to get property owners to agree to install the base station.

I was a loyal singtel user for 14 years. Yes the overall signal and reception is great for voice call. But the way they want to blame everyone but themselves for patchy 3G services in the past was way too much as a reasonable customer. Singtel can tell you it may be your phone, your location, peak hours but never their lack of bandwidth and equipment problem.

It was not until i got IDA in the loop that they identify the issue was with the base station.

Now talking about value, Singtel decided that Singaporeans should contribute 10% of tye overseas TV rights to EPL. Imagine 5milliin people paying 10%, the rest of the world excluding England pays the 90% balancr..... then FiFa come in and chop carrot head during 2010 World cup.

Yes, m1 had service downtime, but as long as you are not a business user or a critical user, m1 is fine. Better 4G latency, good prices. You just need to be patient and noy panick when you cannot call out.
