That whatsapp pass thing is for people with no mobile data plan la. So that they still can whatsapp without paying the ridiculous /kb charges.

Im sick of singtel, going to jump ship to competitors.![]()
Singtel is the one who first take the lead to cut the mobile plan 12gb to 2gb this is a 6 fold increase in pricing per gb without any valueadded.
They also give the least talk time vs m1 39 bucks plan.
Now for corporate line they ask for 30 buck surcharge and no freebies whereas previously theres no such thing.
They were the slowest to drop their exorbitant broadband rates.
For the iphone 5 plan, they were charging he most expensive prices for the cheaper plans.
In return consumer get no value added but just a constant increased in fees for the same service.
People can only speculate why some of the increase in revenue is indirectly used for frivolous acquisition of expensive apps that has failed. eg. singtel skoob etc.... other few hundred million acquisition looks exorbitant priced like amobee and pixable. Their actual returns are questionable.
IF singtel managed to successfully charge free service like whatsapp, it will invariably be pass on the consumer again, instead of working to cut cost and lower prices by improving operation efficiency and cutting cost with better technology.
People hate it when corporation focus on using oligopoly position to imposed ever higher cost on consumer without any value added. This is regressive. Technology cost usually drop with time with improved performance and service .This is call real progress. To go against that is called incompetent and plain corporate greed.

very agree. Thats why few yrs ago i decided to jump ship. So far i am happy with M1
As a singtel user who converted from starhub, I have been very pleased with their signal strength and 4G network speed and stability across SG. Starhub has been a disaster.
I hope this charging proposal does not get passed if it affects consumers. I don't want to switch back to Suckhub or the unreliable M1.
