No issues with roaming, just say no 5G connections when roaming, no matter eight 4G or Singtel hi! 5G.

But 4G connections are good enough for roaming.
IMHO.
Interesting stuffs from AI

The China Issue: Even though your plan is a 5G SA plan, international roaming handshakes in mainland China can get tricky. If your iPhone has 5G Standalone turned ON, it tries to establish a direct connection with China's native SA core. However, if there is a tiny delay in your line authenticating back to Singtel's server in Singapore, the local Chinese tower (especially China Mobile) will reject the phone and drop you straight to 4G.

These are the basis on why I urgently need to change SIM card to true 5G SA. 5G NSA probably will work flawlessly based on the above. If that happens, there is no knowledge gained.

No idea whether AI is correct or not.

My own experiences from a short trip to South Fujian, China back in Dec 2025.

1) giga travel eSIM from Shopee, China Mobile 5G NSA

2) eight 4G: China Mobile 4G (now no more China Mobile as eight changed the roaming partner in China)

3) CUniq 4G: China Unicom 4G

4) SIMBA: China Telecom 4G

5) SingTel S$15.28 plan with roaming data disabled: looks like connected to China Mobile 5G NSA based on NetMonitor app.

I think my only 4G plan is Zym Roam Plus. 🤔
I was hoping that can connect to 5G. :ROFLMAO:

Ever since Singtel shut down its 5G NSA network, The network switching has been very unstable. The phone frequently drops to 0 bars/zero reception during the handoff. It remains on 4G most of the time, and when it finally connects to 5G SA, the connection is short-lived before dropping back to 4G. The overall network stability has gotten significantly worse without 5G NSA coverage.

Both my iPhone 17 and Galaxy phone are mostly getting 4G instead of 5G. This is happening in an area that previously had consistent 5G coverage under the NSA network.

No such issue on my pixel 8 pro, Samsung A56 and iPhone 15 pro max.
I’m driving around everyday.

Are you on Psim or Esim?
If Psim , have you changed your sim?

Online discussions indicate that these issues are predominantly occurring on iOS devices.

In Guangzhuo. Singtel, Singtel Hi and Zym - spotty 5G NSA, mostly 4G.

iPhone 14 can if can do settings to turn off 5G SA first. I got one issue with one Samsung connecting to 4G only.

Between the Dairy Farm Exit & Animal Crossing Bridge, 9/10 times my phone will lose reception.

If you want to keep your rollover, best to make manual payment on the last day. But you lost 1 day.

Usually recurring payment, rollover will get forfeited. You fully utilize the 30 days.

No issue with recurring auto payment via credit card. Nothing to worry about data! (y)
