My own take: YMMV since different users have different use cases and preferences.

1) Singtel S$15.28 plan (12 month contract) is my main line and I will stick to it as my main line.

I will keep eight S$8 plan as well for backup and roaming, especially since I got the S$88 one to one top-up offer to use it for the next 22 months.

Because of the above I am not interested in Singtel MVNOs but I tend to think Singtel MVNOs' 5G plans at around S$15 are of very good value (eg: no contract, more local data and better roaming features than Singtel SIM Only S$15.28 plan).

2) Singtel 5G network and 4G network are still the best among 5G networks and 4G networks. Its main advantage is the roaming benefits.

3) SIMBA is the worst among all the networks for local usage. It is a good option for roaming though, including free roaming Voice.

4) eight 4G plan has some congestion problem. It does offer one feature I like: free roaming voice.

5) M1 Maxx 5G plan is better than Singtel 4G network in my opinion. But people here may not agree. It is also better than eight 4G and SIMBA for local usage. I have not used eight 5G but I expect it to be similar to Maxx 5G.

6) If you want to use 5G to replace Fibre Internet, my suggestion is not to do that unless you really do not use computers.

1) What is this $15.28 plan you're referring to? I can't seem to find it on their website... tbh I don't mind 12-mth contract with Singtel given its reputation and track record.

I'm also not a heavy data user (no netflix, tiktok etc. but just basic social media like IG) so I don't really need a lot of data for my plan. More important is the reliability and speed (5G).

4) I've also read about recommendations for eight - for its free roaming voice when overseas. it's super helpful when especially if need to receive calls from banks or delivery back home. But since I'm in SG 95% of the time I don't think it's worth just switching to eight for that feature...

6) I don't game or netflix - home internet is just for basic web browsing, office-based work, watching some youtubes, etc. been on 4G to provide home internet - it's time to upgrade to 5G, no?
sorry to post this in this Singtel thread.

I had tried out using mobile plans instead of BB services for my home wifi need for 1 month (Jan 2026) and the result is encouraging.

Same as user Maumu, at my home it’s just me and my wife, and we’re only at home for a few hours a day except on Saturdays and Sundays because of work. We also don’t play games or watch other TV channels except Mewatch and using laptop for web surfing.

So far, my total data usage for the month is under 300 GB, so the best option is to sign up for Singtel’s $6 for 180 GB senior plan using both my laopei and laobu’s names. :)

Edit: The Singtel $6 senior plan comes with a 12-month contract.

IMHO.
Good for your laopei and your laobu to know.

Yes. Not the first time, Heya that time also GOMO.
I am fustrated with the Earl Cedrix customer agent.
Customer service is not really good.
Asked me to try the old promo code when the sms said the promo code is single use.

Tell me "if you can wait that will be great". I told him "what else can i do besides waiting"

In the end, cannot see any promo code at his end. Please lor, I also know.

P.S. Singtel please take note.

as posted earlier, I did caution users to be wary all the flowery "forever", "1T roll over" etc etc "promotion code" by ISP.

There’s a Reddit thread about the 1T $10.30 promotion, with many people kpkb, and it turns out there are other hidden terms and conditions for many of these so-called “promotions.”

Before signing up, make sure to read and understand the terms and conditions carefully.
IMHO.
My scenario has got nothing to do with what you have described.
You need to make sure to read and understand. :ROFLMAO:

IMHO, your opinion doesn’t seem humble at all..

What I posted was meant to highlight all the hidden terms and conditions of the ISP’s promotional tactics. Whether you like it or not, Reddit already has a thread on this, and you’re just refusing to accept the fact.

If what people posted on Reddit is misleading, I’m pretty sure Circles.Life would clarify it on their Facebook or take legal action against those people instead of just keeping quiet.

IMHO you’re still living in an ivory tower.

IMHO.
I say again, my scenario has got nothing to do with what you have described and this is a Singtel Hi thread.

You can do so without quoting my post. If there is similarity, do cite them ?
Did I miss out you actual intention or you would have the same MO and not reply to this and/or say take everything with a pinch of salt ?

P.S. Remember my 2 questions.

IMHO simi question?

anw I not too sure whether you understand the meaning of "IMHO" becos it seems all your post will started with IMHO.

I suppose this is the way you safe guard or protect yourself in case others criticise you.
IMHO.

Here you go.

You like to make a lot of assumptions. However, you're are incorrect. Simi protect myself in case other criticise me, simi living in ivory tower. I am not you.

Have you read what I have posted and if it is applicable to what you quoted and posted ?

Some users have warned me that posting unrelated topics, like our differing opinions on ISP plans, in a space meant for Singtel related discussions thread could result in getting NTUC points or even banned in the worst case scenarios.

To stay within forum guidelines, I suggest we moving the discussion to the “Mobile Plan to Replace Home BB” thread.

I’ll delete all my posts here that aren’t related to Singtel.

Thanks for your understanding.

I ported in to SingTel hi! 4G S$10 plan (S$12 plan with port-in offer) on 21 Dec 2025.

I disabled the recurring payment option and now the hi! Wallet is with S$0 value. It falls back to the hi! base plan and the date is set to 19 Feb 2026 (90 days from sign up date, 60 days grace period).

The signal is gone today 20 Feb 2026.

Bye bye, SingTel hi! 4G plan.
