Guess I need to switch to zero1 liao now at jb, cannot call out number lo

You want to have outgoing roaming voice ? Then you can not go with SingTel Gomo or SingTel hi! Postpaid.

Zero1 is not a good choice either. Same for Zym, VIVIFI and CMlink which charges high roaming voice charges.

Better go with eight or Maxx or or SIMBA which offer free roaming voice calls. Starhub 5G+ unlimited plans support free roaming voice calls but they are more expensive.

Maxx --> M1 (Maxx is a M1 digital brand)
eight --> Starhub (eight is a wholy owned subsidiary of Starhub).

They share the same 5G Infrastructure, coverage should be quite okay now.

M1 4G coverage is not as good but less congested. Starhub 4G coverage is bettter but can be congested.

In the end it depends on your use case and budget.

You can also use two MVNO plans to get the benefits of both side. Personally I will recommend to have two plans, one on Singtel network (eg: Zym or Zero1 or VIVIFI or CMLink or Singtel hi! or Gomo) and the other on M1/Starhub network (eg: M1Maxx or Starhub eight) if budget allows.

good thing for Gomo and Hi is that they do not have 3G. Means they can actually offer free roaming voice over volte.

heard it's in the works, coming soon 1H 2027. ;)

1. I do not quite understand your first sentence.

2. Let's see if they can offer a bit of free incoming voice roaming or not, like Zym 10 minutes per month RoamGuard. But if they can learn from eight, SIMBA and M1 Maxx to offer free incoming/outgoing roaming voice, that will be great.

3. High roaming Voice charge is one of the main pain point for Singtel MNO plans and MVNO plans like Zym, Zero1, VIVIFI and CMLink. Some users actually prefer Singtel Gomo and hi! by Singtel in this regard as you will not have bill shocks (no support of roaming voice calls).

5. Zym as a reference:

5.1) What are the roaming voice call rates?

Making/Receiving calls while overseas can be VERY expensive, as we incur costs from the supplier and add a markup to cover our operational expenses. Therefore, we recommend utilizing alternative methods like messaging apps or Wi-Fi calling whenever possible.

However, if you do need to make such a roaming call, please check out the rates below.

If you are in Malaysia & Brunei:
✅ Incoming call: $0.40 per min
✅ Outgoing call within Malaysia & Brunei: $0.40 per min
✅ Outgoing call to Singapore: $0.60 per min
✅ Outgoing call to rest of the world: $7.00 per min

If you are in any countries outside of Singapore, except MY & Brunei:
✅ Incoming call: $5.00 per min
✅ Outgoing call within the same country: $5.00 per min
✅ Outgoing call to SG: $7.00 per min
✅ Outgoing call to rest of the world: $7.00 per min

However, if you do need to make such roaming sms, please check out the rates below.

If you are in Malaysia & Brunei:
✅ Incoming SMS - Not chargeable
✅ Outgoing SMS - $0.40 per SMS

✅ Incoming SMS - Not chargeable
✅ Outgoing SMS: $1.00 per SMS

10. I am seeing a "Roam Guard 10 Mins" in my mobile app or bill invoice. What is this?

W.E.F Feb 2026, Roam Guard, a new feature, automatically absorbs the cost of your first 10 minutes of incoming roaming calls each month while you’re overseas to help prevent bill shock; any incoming time beyond 10 minutes and all outgoing roaming calls are charged at standard pay‑per‑use roaming rates.

meaning the construct for gomo and hi is data only (4G). they are unable to make any voice calls at all, even if singtel want to charge their customers. an advantage for this is that once ST opens up voice roaming for GOMO and Hi, it will only strictly be over VoLTE.

VoLTE charges are dirt cheap thus free voice roaming is possible. While other plans that are on 3G/4G do not have that luxury as ST cannot control whether the sub is on which band when roaming, depending on coverage.
voice charges are extremely expensive thus giving free voice roaming for other plans will be shooting themselves in the foot.

the other possibility is allowing free roaming voice in countries where 3G is entirely shut down(e.g. taiwan), but i don't think there is alot.

Since I have 2 number under singtel by hi and giga

Thinking of swap both to diff operator to get free month also

Most probably will be trying giga - zero1/other

Singtel by hi - eight
And singtel by hi to

Hi all, any of you port out Singtel hi number to Singtel $15.28 sim only plan?
Can be done without needed to pay Singtel registered fee and new sim card charge?
If can be done and use back the same sim card will save a lot of money.
I didn't have the Singtel hi number so asking here for fast answer.
Thank you.

SingTel S$15.28 SIM Only Plus plan is not for new sign-up or port-in, so not for SingTel hi! customers (or Gomo customers). It is only for recontract of existing SingTel Mobile postpaid plan users (SIM Only plans or Phone plans).

Noted. Thanks.
For your info I managed to convert my Singtel prepaid hi card to postpaid $15.28 sim only plan 2 years ago by call in 1688 and the prepaid staff direct my call to $15.28 department.
So ask this question because it is all under Singtel.
Thank you.

For those who may not know. Our current practice for sign up $15.28 postpaid sim only plan method is port in the favorite number to Singtel no contract sim only plan $36, plus register fee $11.90 plus sim card charge $32.90. Total up $80+. When the plan getting close to one month go to the sim only $15.28 page fill up the form and wait for reply.

If you interested to sign up $15.28 sim only plan can try fill up your hi number in the $15.28 page and wait for reply.

Please do not blame me if things happen not in your expectations.

Please share your experience if you have try it. Thank you.

Now things may be more complicated as even the existing SingTel S$15.28 plan users got rejected with the recontract request, including myself. Even existing SingTel S$15.28 plan users may have to contact SingTel (1688 or WhatsApp) and negotiate with them to get the offer.

But no harm trying if the users are interested. If rejected you can contact SingTel through 1688 or WhatsApp to negotiate with them. YMMV.

12-month contract
250GB of 5G+ data
FREE 50GB DataRoam Monthly to Malaysia
1,000 mins
500 SMS
12 FREE months of Caller ID
12 FREE months of 5G+ Access
$15.28/mth

Note: after 12 month contract, the plan becomes very expensive. No one really wants to use the plan out of contract after 12 months. Remember to recontract before contract expire data, you can also port out after contract expires.
