this is the indonesia airborne wing wore by their kompassus (commando/paratrooper)

the Indonesian wing is very similar to USN/Marines' wing, it's hard to ID from pictures

For all army units:

eg. Infantry wear Green beret,arti wear blue beret

Anyone knows why the army units that used to wear peak caps with no 1 stop wearing them?

i think they changed and allow commando, guards, armour to wear their beret with no. 1

but subsequently allow other formation to wear also, except MP and the army band?

yes, except MP and Band, who will stick to the peak caps. even the SAF Band has changed their no.1 uniform.

During NDP i noticed MOST flag bearers & escorts wearing berets but i did see one or two in army no 1 uniform with peak cap. So which army formations stick to peak cap?

Also, how come some flag escorts wear red sash? What does that symbolise and how come only some wear it instead of all flag escorts?

yes, except MP and Band, who will stick to the peak caps. even the SAF Band has changed their no.1 uniform.

The RSAF & RSN do not practice wearing sash. Only Army flag escorts continue to practice wearing red sash as part of their Customs & Traditions.

The sash may be an item of ornamental equipment that once had a functional purpose: to improvise litters for carrying wounded off the field.

They were usually made of silk, being strong as well as light,
and full enough to enclose the human form. Sash are worn by Infantry Colour Escorts normally Sergeant by rank.

They are also worn by Infantry Duty Sergeant, often known as “Duty BOS” (Duty Battalion Orderly Sergeant) in a unit.

It is laid across the right shoulder (beneath the epaulette) to the left
of the body.

the gold badge on the right chest look like the AARM badge our shooters wear, but i'm not sure if a No.3 version exists.

it used to be a small pin badge that is pinned above the right breast pocket of the number 3 right?

anyway, imo it is a lame badge that only a few regulars will get it.

iirc he has so many badges that he has 3 different sets of uniforms each with different overseas badges
