This evening I did my first socash withdrawal at SS green machine. So difficult
Had a hard time scanning my QR code. Two staff came to my help They also cannot do it. After >10minutes of trying by 3 persons then it went through successfully Not a good start

I turn it upside down, move away n towards the reader, at an angle with code facing up at an angle.

Thanks bro! I'm using android phone, my QR code is on top of page so I have to turn it upside down to meet the scanner. The staff help scan my phone in all possible directions, near, far, use cloth clean the glass etc. Hold up a few people behind, so malu
I don't even register which position the QR was finally captured

U r right, could be the angle..have to tilt my phone.
Guess I need more practice Will try it again tmr!

Hold phone horizontally, tilted at angle, adjust until the light from scanner shine at green dot in centre of qr code, that is my trick, good luck

This community better keep quiet. I had made so many reminders on the credit point sections.

sorry but i can't agree with your statement "... community better keep quiet".

the purpose of such a forum is exactly the opposite - we share what we know and there shouldn't be stuff to hide, especially if it helps others, more than it helps only ourselves (i.e. benefit you only while others 'miss the boat').

just because we think they (you-know-who) are reading doesn't mean we have to act dumb or pretend otherwise. that defeats the point of having a thread in the first place.

all these months banks cutting back rewards is NOT because we're taking advantage but because the whole world is feeling the effects of covid-19 fallout and they cannot continue to reward customers like us who join their programme and 'advertise' for them.

wonder why when rates go up, everyone is happy to share, but when rates go down, people start to think that this community is exposing/exploiting and then everyone should 'shut up'.

as for socash, they can do whatever they like as long as they are open and upfront about it.

It happened to me before. Turn off reading mode and try to increase the brightness on your phone display. Then ok.

aim for the red scanning line (not very obvious) which i dont think comes from the small box which u think is reader.

Move from far slowly towards the reader.

dont put right in front of reader straight away.

Just hold your phone, no need to upside down, place near the edge of the flat surface of the machine will do, meaning half of your handphone body with QR Code face the QR scanner. Tested and every time worked!

Anyone in Bedok area know where ss / haomart got do $500 ?

Went around a few places all max $250, haomart says <$200 depends...

Or did ss lowered down the withdrawal limit? I tried <$250 can see it shows up, if $10 above it drop from the list of withdrawal points.

Ss has limit to 250 per withdrawal

Pls learn from past experience. Dun keep calling them, then they will continue to tighten controls and limit the rewards.

It is clearly stated in tnc, max reward is $30 per mth, total, regardless of how u get it. Keep quiet if u get more, or they will continue to tighten.

I just read the tnc again, looks changed. It states something like this per my interpretation, in my own words: the rewards program is meant to benefit customers with a genuine need to withdraw for their shopping, not for those who exploit the system. If u are found to be exploiting the system, u can be banned or punished with no rewards, and they will continue to change the tnc or terminate the rewards

So I was right, they decided to terminate 1.5% cashback promo on Sept 11 (originally Dec)

Now wait for new promo
