One thing that made Steve Jobs so unique is the fact that he doesn’t care what the consumers think they want. He just make it according to what he thinks and more often than not he’s proven right. Under Tim Cook Apple is becoming just another average tech company desperate to follow the trend, and the recent decline in quality of their software shows that.

However I think iOS is still ahead of android, but that’s only because of Androids flaws rather than iOS strength. That said I implore all the iPhone users who complain to go use android and see how they like the software over there.

I think Scott Forstall leaving is one of the reason why iOS doesn’t feel as polished as before. It’s no coincidence that the last best iPhone/iOS combination was the iPhone 5. Ever since iOS 7 the problems with frame rates, stuttering/choppy UI has been ever present.

Maybe we have to lower our standards in order to ‘enjoy’ all the new features Apple are throwing as us. For me I would trade simplicity and stability over anything else.

Tough act to give what consumers want.
More tech, smaller form, cheaper price, stability, after sales service ... the list goes on.

Everything is relative.
Like you said, if consumers feel Apple cannot cut it anymore, they’re free to try alternatives.

I agree... Scott Forstall is like the balancing force with Jonathan Ives. When he left, you get flat design changes, less stable updates and so on. The latest iOS 11 really feels like a beta. Worst iOS release yet.

Which part? There’s clear decline in the quality and stability of iOS in the past few years but it is still better than whatever Android comes up with. That was all I am saying.

I see. Then it’s pointless for me to update then. Not sure how Apple is not doing something about it till now. The only things that’s worst than springboard freezing is actually a bricked phone.

For me the folders icon and 3D touching is the main cause of the freezing.

Ok. Noted with thanks. Hope will be good by then. Rather disappointed & frustrated with the current versions. :(

I suggest everyone to wait for iOS 11.1. I am on the Beta 1 and it felt so much better than iOS 10.3.3 already.

I assume you guys are using iPhone 8/8 Plus?

If you're using iPhone 7/7 Plus, then expect some improvements, anything lower may give you complications.

I'm on 7 Plus and I've updated it with my 6s Plus to 11.0.2, so far so good.
