Feels like they changed the unlock icon slightly.

The unlocking process on my XS Max feels a bit smoother and a bit faster now.

updated itunes to version 12.9.1

connect my max to my laptop, tried to update using itunes, gave me blackscreen and itunes kept showing waiting for phone for the past 15min.

try to exit but was forced to do a full restore, my backup is at home.

no choice, in a way - the update failed for me. Got to restore backup at home tonight

I don't think I have an issue with my updates. It runs smoothly as soon as I restarted my phone, laptop, etc. What are the issues for you guys?

Seems like the device throttling issue is back?

Also, what does it mean that Battery Health is unable to verify if the battery is an original Apple Store battery? You mean we used to have this feature?

but i did OTA update on my ipad air 2, no issue at all.

possibilities for my failed update on max -

1. didnt restart my laptop after updating to the latest itunes when it prompted me to restart after update.

2. lousy cable.

3. some errors with the ipsw i downloaded

it's working now with 12.1 but i only installed certain app which i need to use daily like whatsapp.

You might want to do a DFU restore too.

Before iOS 12.1, screen time don’t show my past 7 days of records even if I turn on or off the share across devices. And only1 option of device.
After updating to iOS 12.1, past 7 days appeared, but 3 option of devices to select.

I also think either the throttling is back or rather now they included 3 more phones to the throttling :s22:

Your choice - the device crash or throttle when battery suboptimal? Battery degrades over time....I’d rather have option to have safe mode than everytime just autoshutdown when needing power than can be provided by battery. Or you can replace the battery when such thing happen:o

Downloaded the iOS 12.1 from apple website.
Downloaded and install iTunes 12.9.1, this time did a restart of my pc when prompted.

Set my phone to DFU mode and do a full restore of the phone.
After this, I successfully restore my backup, luckily i did one last night.

So far after 1 hour of usage, no issue. So i guess the possibilities for my failed update this morning are:

1. Didnt do a restart of the laptop in my office when prompted after installing the latest iTunes.
2. Lousy cable
3. Bad download of the iOS 12.1 ipsw file.

I think this version shouldn't be a problem for everyone :s22::s22:
