Whenever unlocking the iPhone using Apple Watch, the watch will vibrate. Any way to disable the vibration?

Does this mean that we need to remove passcode lock on apple watch? unlocked apple watch means?

To securely unlock their devices, users must first wear an unlocked Apple Watch nearby.

Glancing at the iPhone allows it to detect a mask. Users will then receive haptic feedback from their watch, meaning their phone has been unlocked.

The “Unlock With Apple Watch” function can be found under Face ID & Passcode in Settings.

I think so far there isn’t. Cause it is to alert you in a scenario whereby someone took your iPhone and unlock it when you’re nearby.

no need to be connected to a wifi network. But it requires a feature called time of flight that’s available with WiFi.

Thanks for the explanation, learnt something new today! :)

Really love this new feature and it unlocks just like not wearing a mask at all, only thing the watch has this clicking sound.

Your AW is always locked with a passcode when removed from your wrist. Once you wore it in your wrist and unlock your iPhone, your AW will be unlocked too.

At this instance, your AW is always unlocked until you removed it from your wrist. It will then be allowed to unlock your iPhone with the assistance of Face ID without keying in passcode on the AW or phone.

loving this update. it took about 1s to authorise the unlock
if you have "muscle memory" that you swipe the moment you lift your phone, you will experience an unsuccessful attempt
where the phone lock icon will shake, meaning cannot detect, then a split second, the apple watch vibrate and at the same time the phone will display "Updating" and lastly unlocks

you'll have to pull up the phone to your face (what u do normally), wait for the authorisation to happen (vibration from apple watch), then the lock icon will unlock.
this way you will not see the lock icon shake and the "updating" text.

small complain but i'm glad this feature is available like finally.

Very smooth to unlock. Wait for watch to vibrate which is very fast, swipe up the phone and start using. No hassle. Love it 👍👍

I covered more than 3/4 of my face and it still works. Just need to show 1/2 to 1 eye to work🙄

Not very intelligent if they are just checking whether I have an Apple Watch.

So for the first time when we wear our watch and to unlock our phone with mask on we have to manually key in the passcode to unlock and subsequently it will be unlock when Apple Watch is on our wrist? It happened to me this way

Seems to have fixed the bank apps issues. No more internet connection loss after prolonged bank app usage on WiFi

Yes you are right. The very first time after you wear the AW, you have to key in passcode on the phone to unlock the AW.

Like what someone mentioned, need to get used to not immediately flicking upwards to unlock. Just let the watch unlock it.
