anyway guys, this wifi issue on 8.0.2 is really on-off kind and pretty random. A very good scenario of testing it is through launching app store, under featured tab, select apple id at the bottom of the page, then view apple id. On wifi, it took 15-22 sec for the page to load, sometimes even longer. For 4G it took < 6 sec. Payment info took 8 sec on wifi, took 3 sec on 4G. I got stuck for more than 5 mins when processing postal code/telephone changes for US store account, on 4G it took < 10 sec.

I did the above test a few times at different timings and in all of them, 4G proved superior and the fault seems to lie in 8.0.2 wifi. I have no wifi issues on my laptop or other mobile devices, only on my 5S. Whats strange is that when i use the speedtest app on my 5S, there were no hiccups and i managed to clock consistent 80+mbps down/up with <10ms ping. Browsing with safari or using apps with network activity loader were slow and sometimes time out.
Ya true, 8.0.2 wifi very slow, on 4g fast...

update can't come soon enough. pls fix e wifi Apple! :s22:

It will come before the end of the month because 8.1 supports Apple Pay(yeah SG don't support yet) that they say Apple Pay will be coming in October for those in US which means 8.1 by the end of this month ;)

Stayed on 8.0 for all my Apple devices -- it's good to track forums like MacRumors and iMore whenever a new update goes live. There were a number of complaints for 8.0.2 about bluetooth, wifi and freezes that i decided to wait. Hopefully, the next update will fix all problems, but I won't be rushing to get it first.

The wifi issue is very irritating

Sometimes the phone will for nothing suddenly go to 4G connection even when connected to wifi 1 second ago

Now, ipad2 which is on starhub only show no service

Can only use wifi to connect

Called starhub help line, told to test SIM card, if ok, should be ipad2 problem

Tried to reset network setting and problem went away, starhub is back on

Well, latest iOS 8.1 released on 20, GM version should be earliest? 15? Not far away.

Btw, u may wanna cut down on doing speedtests on cellular data... one test alone uses 50-80MB darn
