Same. Wi-Fi ping much lower. Based on speedtest before and after

Say too early. Wi-Fi still spotty. Got a no connection once. But overall feel is Wi-Fi is much faster than before. Used to. Have to use cellular to feel this kind of speed.

Will continue to monitor whether the no connection will happen again

Yes and only 100+ MB. But I dunno why OTA ones are so very much smaller in size when it's the same OS.

Ya memory requirement only for OTA
They need extra space to extract the file and update on the phone

iTunes no need so much space on phone to update as they extract and update on your computer

Mine doesn't matter as I always update via iTunes.

Hopefully the battery drain issue is fixed. Wi-Fi so far feels quite the same leh, maybe need use awhile more.
No 2G/3G/LTE toggles here either.

After updating to iOS 8.1, my phone memory freed about 300MB.

The 2G, 3G, 4G toggle are region specific. Sadly, Singapore doesn't have it.

Yes it feels much faster because ping is much lower. Overall am happy with the update. It's been a long wait. Now can finally enjoy the phone as it is meant to be
