The garment has to make it such, that 1 parent work and 1 parent raise the kids.

Meaning 1 income is enough to feed the entire family. Like the generations before us.

Stop ripping us off by pricing BTO high - in the name of raiding our coffers - and needing 2 incomes to fund it.

Now our coffers fat fat but maybe there will be no more Singaporeans.
Still will have many people not having kids.

Yes! Hope OPP takeover and spoon feed all of us!!

Free housing, free cars, free food on table, clothes to wear!!

All we need to do is lay flat and give birth!!!

What an amazing suggestion!!!

So easy to solve this. Upon birth of 3rd child, remainder of HDB housing loan is fully redeemed.

finer details such as property type, loan type, loan amount cap to be determined.

with the largest financial commitment out of the way, folks can have SAHM just like the past. Less

Either husband or wife need to be lower educated 1st. Want iPhone, want car, want rolex, want etc... a lot of conditions need to meet the same as our parents time. If not dual income is new norm.

Fixing BTO cost is not difficult. Build HDB and sell very cheap, but you can only sell back to HDB. You want that?
People want to buy cheap, but after they have one, they want to sell higher to profit. With each gen, the price will progressively go higher. You're seeing higher prices because you're feeding the previous gen.
These will revert only IF there's a big financial crisis, many people out of job, cannot pay loan and forced by bank to sell, creating a glut in property market.
Low TFR has nothing much to do with housing, but an excuse. Most people see the pain and financial burden of raising children. Even if they do, it's one or maybe two child.
With AI, most jobs will be redundant, we may not actually no need more people. The reserves is needed to sustain the higher aged population till they die off.

Correct. This is the answer. One parent has to stay at home to care for the kids. The garment refuses to accept this fact.

They call lowering BTO price raiding the reserves.

Well, our GIC and Temasek is now 6th and 11th largest in the world.

It is disproportionately huge for a country our size beating even Germany which has 83m people!

I say they are taking advantage of Singaporeans.

Actually no need to improve TFR here.

1. AI will likely eliminate many low-value jobs in the next 2-3yrs.
2. AI will also reduce number of humans required to achieve objectives.
3. MNCs, and SMEs will seek out cheaper locations to shift operations, with growing AI and Robotics capabilities.

There will likely be higher import counts to stabilise GDP, and likely, ministerial salaries. GST will also likely increase around that time. With that, do you want to have your newborn to live in such environment? In SG, your kids wont be spared from the 2yrs of NS, to protect these new citizens' assets, while they come in free of the NS shackles.

We already missed the upside to leverage on AI, semiconductor early, we also missed preparing for the downsides early. With the ongoing monitoring playbook here, do consider where you and your descendants want to head towards in the near future, not just the end goal

It's just a small slice of the big puzzle. Still have to change the mentality of the younger generations that kids are worth sacrificing their personal freedom for. Not to mention that the dating scene is bad for majority of guys who wants to find a partner to settle down but can't.

BBFAs with no good prospects don't even need to think about it unless they go for foreign bus from neighbouring countries.

Point is: Does the government truly cares about TFR ? The saying goes, where there is a will, there is a way.
Conversely, the government does not seem to be bother if they can just import people.

I agree about the point of 1 parent at home to look after kids.

Sounds good to lower BTO what. If house cheap, only 1 spouse need to work while the other stay at home to take care of children. This could be the solution.
