depends on how is your case airflow and the room venation. u can get ard 30+ degree to 40 in idle. but if u OC your 6600k your idle most probably around 40+ to 50 (depends on how u OC.)

If OC i5-6600k with corsair h100 series, temp can go Super Low
Last time I was on h115i, under aircon
Temp reach 20-23 degree at idle.
My OC was 4.6ghz

ok i just turned on my new rig for e first time today to make sure that all e parts are correctly connected n running.. did not connect to monitor or move my OS ssd over yet..

i have to say that everything is SUPER QUIET.. i could not hear anything at all!

if there are any crucial parts that are not working, will e mobo give out a beep? there was a red led that was turned on on my msi pro gaming mobo, but i did not really notice if it was a fault or not though

also, i connected e r1 ultimate to CPUFAN1, while e PWM hub from e phanteks casing i connected to CPUFAN2... correct or not?

well not sure of which board u using, but there should be some beep if there is any issues with the installations. (haha PS just saw the mobo name)

as for led depends is just a short while or is the led lighting on the mobo.

fans connections should be fine.

PWN hub can just connect to any pwn fan header on the mobo.

I cant remember but i got my win7 copy from pcthemes when i bought my old rig like 6 yrs ago? So i guess its oem? But i did e free upgrade to win 10 thingy..

Anyway, i have to say e entire process was hassle free after linking e accts.. just migrated e ssd over, boot from there , can hey presto can log on liao.. even my wireless adapter waa working , along with my keyboard n mouse.. after tat just had to re-register e windows my saying tat it is on a new device n tat was it..

2 thumbs up to microsoft for this! Easiest windows installation ever

okay time for me to post my thoughts and summary:

1. Firstly, thanks so much to all fellow HWZers here for their advice n help.. for someone who has not assembled my own rig since 6 years ago, there has been a lot of things that have changed since then.. also, your recommendations for e parts i should get n such were very useful in helping me to decide

2. CPU temps: i did some testing with e prime95 software, and my average temps at stock were about 51 to 52 deg on average.. dunno if i did e stress test correctly or not..

3. thoughts on completed rig: like mentioned earlier, it is super quiet as compared to my old rig.. i placed it on my table right beside me, and i hardly hear any noise at all..for me it is an amazing difference.. my old WD portable HDD makes more noise when i plug it in.. gaming performance is also great, as e 1070 really is e sweet spot for QHD gaming that fits my dell 2715 perfectly...

assembly of e rig was also much easier, bar some troubles with some cables like e cpu power pin due to e HUGE cooler that made it tough for to reach.. managed to solve e problem as e casing was spacious n adaptable enough (i removed e top grill for radiator so my hand could fit in.. OS migration was also smooth n no hassle

overall 10/10 experience.. to add to that, my secretlab titan is coming tmr! :D
