Hi, any recommended shop to try and buy e-mount lens? Looking for 35mm F1.8 lens.

recently I checked with Click! and they quoted $546. Not sure if they allow trying without buying or not.

U can also try sigma 30mm 2.8DN ART. I just got mine from KL midvalley mall. M$715 (after GST rebate). Pretty good lens but it has is has this cranky sound when u move the lens. I read that it's a design limitation. Otherwise, this lens close half the price of 35mmF18. Not a bad deal.

Bro, following you in Flickr. the sun setting photo is nice, but a bit cluttered and too many competing subjects fighting for attention. maybe step forward a bit more concentrating in the sunset and the lamp with minimum ships in the frame. Or wait out some more for the blue hour. Anyway, MHO only, me a photography newbie.

chances are you could get it from those shops at a cheaper rate.

those shops usually start with the same bundle that Sony is giving (with cash rebate, freebies etc), then reduce a bit. I bought my A6000 during some sony promo as well, got it for cheaper (from alan photo I think).

Alan photo's service is... well not great to say the least, but if you do your homework and just want to buy the camera/lens and go, it's usually the cheapest. I bought the SEL50F18 there for a lot less than what the other shops were quoting.

Just have to call the usual shops and ask first. If prices around the same I usually get from TK photo since service is better. Got the SEL35F18 there, it's a superb lens for travel.

i wonder if it's worth buying in japan at BIC/Yodobashi with the tax rebate.. of course with the limitation of only domestic japan warranty

imo, yes. different perspective .

I think i rather hve a zoom lens for travels, albeit a little heavy. My eyes are on 18-105, any comments? Read that distortion is heavy, but shoot jpeg or post touch up will fix it.

50 on aps c is more like 75mm. Been thinking about that also. But overall super happy with the 35f18

What's the rough price range at BIC/Yodobashi? I got the SEL50F18 last year for <S$300.

I used the 50f18 before changing to the 35f18. The 50f18 is awesome for portraits, but terrible for travel or street photography IMO... way too narrow. Really depends on your intended usage. I'm much happier with the versatility of the 35f18
