Just bought a 49"X8500F from Sony with their current on going promo price of $1,849.00.

My previous TV was last year's model 49" X8000E. Also bought it around the same period and price during their promo. Gave my dad the X8000E.

So far for both TVs not much diff. Maybe for the 2018 model, when going into the home menu and selecting apps not so laggy. (one of my complains about the 2017 models)

I followed the settings recommended by the website RTINGS.com which offs basically almost every new function on the X8500F (Motion flow, Live color etc.) :s13:

In fact I find the colors on my X8000E are better. (Also followed RTINGS.com settings)

Side question, am confused with Sony's naming any one can clarify?

X8500F (Singapore) is X850F for the US/UK?
X8000E (Singapore) X800E for the US/UK?

My X8000E I did not tweak any picture settings.
Just use Auto mode for most devices.
Between X8000E and F won't have significant improvements.

I doubt anyone here plays 4K UHD Blu ray disc for your TV to shine.
Concurrently I am using Sony BDP-6700 with upscale to 4K
for blu ray playback

So far picture quality is quite good, still waiting for the UBP-X700
which was confirm to be launched here.
I pair with Onkyo HTS-3800 5.1 ($699), really feels like Cinema.

Thanks. I will pay all in full and avoid the interest charge.

Credit card monthly instalment no interest charge. Sometime promotion will waive one month free , let say the item is S$2,400 instead of 24 months pay S$2,400 , you only pay 23 months of total S$2,300 , so overall pay lesser but again is up to individual.

The cord is not detachable, so if you need it, you need an extender..

Either use a power extension or get contractor to do a power point
that hide behind your TV.
